An unnamed poster has requested I start a pole on single malt scotch. I was just wondering how many single malt scotch drinkers there are on this board to make it worth while? Here is a pre-pole pole for you guys to decide if this is a good topic for a pole.

I will let that certain poster whose name starts with an "M" and ends with an "!" know the results. by the way you are a sponsor and can start poles!!! ;)

Gimmick infringement, bro.

And you're right, there are about a bajillion brands out there. I don't think vBulletin could handle all the choices. :)

New information has caused me to change my mind. I am not a big scotch drinker, single malt or otherwise. Don't go to the trouble.

Where's the "frankensooner starts too many poles" option?

Oh, and Glenfiddich all the way.

I really don't. I limit myself to one real pole a week. This is a pre pole pole, not even a real frank pole. I get tired of spekin' all of the comments anyways, so I will start resting now. ;)

If you guy miss your usual treat, blame OCUDad.

Okay here is my Single Malt and Blend collection. And as a Scot taught me, you put just a wee bit of cold spring water into the glass to smooth out the malt, never ice...Though ice can be nice on a young malt.

Single Malts:
Dalwhinnie 1988 and 1990
Caol Ila
Laphroaig
The Macallan 18 year
Long Bow
The Balvenie 21 year Port wood aged
Mortlach
Glenturret
Johnny Walker Green and Black (gifts)

Blends:
Buchanan's (gift) don't know anything about this one
Sheep Dip - a very nice blend

Beam Global Spirits & Wine is launching the Ardmore Traditional Cask Single Malt Scotch in the US.

The company said yesterday (20 February) that the new expression "was crafted in direct response to 15 years of consumer demand for a quality single malt from the Ardmore distillery".

The brand extension will be available in US stores nationwide from next month, with only 3,000 cases initially available. The Highland malt, which was launched in the UK and travel retail last autumn, will retail at between US$45 and $50, depending on the market, for a 75cl bottle.

"For years, consumers have been passionately asking for a single malt whisky from the Ardmore distillery, and we are thrilled to finally deliver this high-quality product to eager malt whisky fans," said Paige Guzman, Beam's brand manager for Scotches. "Ardmore Traditional Cask has a definitive character and flavour profile making it an ideal 'step up' for those seeking to break away from mainstream tastes into a diverse and complex malt market."
