Oh man, they sent out a new MWD tool and we thought we were going to lay the old one down. It had 150 hours on it but I wanted to re-run it. We get everything ready and swapped out when the lead DD calls the floor to let us know that we were not picking up the new MWD tool. Dangit. I then had to come down here and change things out in the computer and then we had to lay the new MWD down and pick up the old one.

the top drive is down, I say again the top drive is down!!!

If they can get to the hydraulic line that busted we'll resume drilling in about 12 hours. If they have to lay it down to get to the line I'll have a day or two off!!

The top drive rotates the drill string end bit without the use of a kelly and rotary table. The top drive is operated from a control console on the rig floor.
