Which is the better airline to fly? I have the choice between the two to go Omaha-Milwaukee-Grand Rapids in a week. I've never flown either of the two before.

I doubt if there is really much difference.

Well, Midwest has a hub in Milwaukee so you'll be eliminating half of the hassles.

I've never flown Northwest, but I've heard way too many horror stories about that airine. Go with Midwest

I'd rather fly the blimp HMS Rosie O'Donnell than fly Northworst.

You know why Northwest Airlines started painting their tails red?

So when they crashed into a snowbank, they'd be easier to find.

Last time I flew Northwest was on a bereavement fare. On the one hand, I was grateful for the reduced fare. On the other, the gate agent was unbelievably rude and inconsiderate when I was trying to get my seat switched to sit by my mother who was grieving for the loss of her father.

It looks like I am going have to suck it up and take Northwest, because Midwest wants to run me through KC as well on the way out, and I really don't want to spend the extra money and time to do that.

If you have status or expect to fly a lot - Northwest
If you don't - Midwest.

Couldn't agree more, which sucks because my options are pretty limited otherwise. And for business... forget it, I'm practically forced to... Ugh! Nasty people.

All things being equal (price, number of stops, travel time), I'd definitely go with Midwest. It's a nice airline. Although I haven't had any issues with NW and they've actually treated me pretty well over the years. I flew them to Europe a few years ago and they were great.

You hillbillies complaining about NW need to stop wearing your tank tops when you travel.

Every time I"ve flown Northwest, I've missed a connecting flight because they were running late.

Ditto. Every seat on board is like business class. They don't play "coach" on Midwest.;)

We flew Northwest from Denver to Minnesota. It SUCKED! They delayed our first flight. And on the way back they were late arriving-so we missed our connecting flight to SLC

Midwest:
Pros: New planes, comfortable seats, delicious food, and friendly service
Cons: Limited routes
