Beagle takes Westminster for the first time in history. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080213/ap_on_re_us/dog_show;_ylt=AsFsxZ09FZ_KMb5Z54LEtuqs0NUE)

The only breed consistently among the nation's most popular dogs for nearly 100 years, a beagle had never won in the 100 times the Westminster Kennel Club had chosen a winner. That changed when judge J. Donald Jones pointed to this nearly 3-year-old package of personality.
No longer an underdog — make that an Underdog — Uno beat out two neatly primped poodles, a top Sealyham terrier, a sleek Weimaraner, a lively Australian shepherd and a sprightly Akita.
"He's perfect, he was a 10," Jones said. "He does cuteness well."

Uno is his name. My God, this dog is cute:

Go beagles!

All I know is, if they can't get a Westminster Champion beagle to shut up, I've got NO chance to make my two be quiet.

My wife wants to breed our female; she thinks the demand (and thus, the selling price) might go up.

He's only 3 also which would make him legal to drink in human years...whatever I dunno

Gotta give props to AP writer Ben Walker for those vivid adjectives.

I love that fan favorites included a Chihuahua that spun in circles.:D

How about a Chihuahua that won't stop attacking a Boston Terrier four times her size?

Oh, those are just symptoms of Rosobella Syndrome, which is generally cured by age or:

That was a great show. I was convinced the weimaraner was going to win, but that beagle must have cheated.

We'll probably soon have Congress investigating whether Uno was doping.

I should call the owner and ask to buy the rights to the book about how Uno did it the right way. Then when the dog goes public with the doping scandal, I can laugh at all the people that believed me!

I watched it, too bad the Heeler didn't win the Herding group but Aussie Shepherds are good as well. Beagles have always been a favorite, when I was 4 years old we go a half-Beagle/half Dachshund and had her until she was 14. I was looking for a Beagle when Bailey (Blue Heeler) came along, I will probably try and find another Heeler or a Beagle this time.

Uno made the cover of the Austin American Statesman (http://www.statesman.com/) today, they have a special photo section for him (http://www.statesman.com/ap/mediahub/media/slideshow/index.jsp?tId=77944).
