I'm extremely curious as to how this will play out now.
Romney would be a great running mate no doubt.

Romney giving speech at C-PAC convention even as we speak. He sounds upbeat so far.

I think Rudy's gonna get McCain's Veep slot...solely on name recognition factor and his NYC connections, cause that's the only way he'll have a shot of winning ANY New England states come November.

Fred Thompson? VP? Maybe a cabinet position, but I can't see him as VP.

I think there's a good chance JSM will choose Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) as his veep. Don't ask me why I know this.

please, JSM is going to choose the most liberal puppy killer there is to be his running mate, or so RLimC keeps saying.

he needs to pick the future of the party - not sure who that is, but i doubt its Huckabee

I still think he'd reach out to Lieberman first - I cant think of a more centrist ticket

Hate to break it to you, but I would be knocked over if Rudy went for a veep spot. He's not exactly a second fiddle kind of guy. Trust me.

Much better than the proposed McCain / RuPaul ticket.

Your very own Tom Coburn could be a VP candidate - he's extremely conservative and he's the one that intro'd McCain today before his speech

Your very own Tom Coburn could be a VP candidate - he's extremely conservative and he's the one that intro'd McCain today before his speechThere is serious talk about that. The newest and most interesting rumor with legs is JC Watts may be back in the mix. He's certainly more of a brother than Barack ever was and he'd kill the whole "history" argument that the dems are banking on.

he's viewed too much of an uncle tom by blacks on the left to use to pander to that voteThat has changed quite a bit over time. He's worked to fix that misunderstanding quite a bit since he retired from congress. He also never wavered on affirmative action.
