That's funny. I also read that as him sending in his LOI. I was thinking "Who is that? He's not even rated by rivals!?!?!?"

Heh.

Ronnell plays just 3 miles east of here, but i haven't seen him play; word is he's being recruited by a few big 12 schools, probably as a LB; that would be pretty sweet to have a local kid to go OU

From what I've found the kid has 4.5 speed and looks closer to 230.

Mark Rogers showed some video of this kid last fall and I thought he showed some talent. He showed breakaway speed and he definitey has the size. Next fall will be his first season of playing 11 man football as Dewar played 8-man football last season.

I remember Nebraska having some kds who plyed 6-man football so maybe we have a diamond in the rough prospect.

You obviously don't see many guys come out of 6-man and go D-1, or play any college ball for that matter, but sometimes those guys that do play that stuff are good athletes and excel in playing in the open field (there being so much of it in 6-man), often times being outstanding tacklers for instance.

According to people that have seen him play, he is; he was slowed in the playoffs last season by an ankle injury so the numbers weren't up to his usual standards but still were pretty good; it's pretty exciting to have a local kid commit to the Sooners!!

It looks like Whaley (RB), Timmons (WR) and Davis (DB) all declared for the whorns this weekend. When Mack get the commits this early, you can pretty much write them off.

Texas is racking up this weekend, I would feel alot better if we got a couple more solid early commits.

I tell you what I like about what I heard of him. He was speechless when he met Coach Stoops, speechless when offered a scholly and said it was the greatest thing to ever happen to him. He may not be ranked on Rivals yet or whatever, but that I like. If Coach Stoops and Co. think he's ready or capable to play in Norman, I'll take their word for it and be more impressed with his attitude for now.

Well, when your recruiting spiel is a mixture of

1) "Here is an offer, you have 20 seconds to decide."

and

2) "Oh, you're interested in 3 schools. Sorry, we're pulling our offer. No, I don't care that both your grandpappy's played there. **** you."

the commitments you get tend to be early.

*********NOTE***********

If a top-rated player in the State fails to fall for 1) and 2) above, engage "Slander Academic Record" sequence.

That is correct.

As hard as it is to believe, there are kids that are raised to believe that getting a scholly from UT is a lifelong dream and when they are offered, they are programmed to accept said offer without question. It is kind of a sad commentary on kids and parents these days!

Can anyone tell me anything about this kid from Midwest City Carl Albert? His name is Daytawion Lowe and all I can find is that he is 6'1 180 with 4.47 speed. I saw on oufans.com that he has a favorite but I am not a member so I can't access that info. He apparently plays DB. class of 2009.
