Man... Brock may have lost, but that dude is a BEAST. He needs to bring in a BJJ black belt and just train non-stop on his BJJ until his next fight. Don't worry about wrestling; he's obviously got that covered. Prior to tonight, I wasn't a fan of his as I could care less about the WWE, but that guy TOTALLY won me over.

I was glad to see Tim lose, even though he did do a better job tonight of making the fight interesting. Still, I just don't like his fighting style and I'm hoping this puts him out of fight cards for a while.

After watching his fight against the Korean dude in K1 and tonight:

Man, he really likes to punch people in their head.

bjj is some pretty fierce ****. if you don't know what's coming, they can make you tap with any joint in your body.

If Brock dedicates himself to learning BJJ, I honestly believe he could beat any HW out there, including Fedor. I know thats extremely premature, but I've never seen a HW that fast or strong. He was fighting like a man possessed. It worked against him b/c he didn't defend properly against the knee bar, but if he can get that BJJ defense second nature, he could beat anybody, and I truly believe that.

Watch out heavyweights.

wow, that's like the old saying about the difference between a fighter and a boxer. Lesnar reminded me of a contestant at one of those tough guys contests that just comes out swinging windmill style.

but, if he learns some defense, he'll be an animal.

I can't wait to see Sylva vs Henderson both are bad men. Pound for pound Anderson Sylva may be the best there is.

I was upset with the outcome of the Lesnar fight. He was dominating until the "timeout".

Steve Austin and Kurt Angle should have distracted the ref and the Undertaker used a tombstone piledriver on Frank..

Timeout? Brock hit Frank square in the back of the head at least 3 times. You can't do that and Mazzagoti was right to stop the fight. It's the same as a shot to the nuts.

Brock knows you can't hit to the back of the head but he did anyway. You didn't see him complain about it either.

Brock has all the potential in the world to dominate in the HW division, but he learned a valuable lesson last night that you need to be more than a wrassler.

It was great to see shades of the old Frank Mir. Here's hoping he gets a shot at Big Nog sometime soon.

whatever. while I agree that it was probably not necessary to call the timeout due to the punch to the back of the head, lesnar was just wildly swinging and would have punched himself out in a matter of minutes. he was taken out quick by a simple bjj move at 1:30 into the bout. he needs to work on his defense.

and his offense.

it looks like he had a great chance to mount Mir. the fight would've been over in short order if he had. also, having a guys back is a big deal in this game. he had Mir's back for a second, but didn't look prepared to do anything other than punch.

which is kinda sad since Lesnar has been training in a Gracie camp for several months. You'd think that's all they'd have worked on was BJJ.

I still have high hopes for him, the UFC really needs a dominating HWT.

it's hard to undo years of training in a couple months, especially when the adrenaline starts pumping. Also, I would think his mass would work against him when it came to bjj in terms of flexibility/maneuvering.

Brock could be the best heavy weight ever if he learns the BJJ/ submission defense. He is very very athletic, and quick as all ****. He did not dissappiont.

If the ref did not make him get up for the point he lost he may have knocked him out in the first 30 seconds.

David Heath got thrown around like a rag doll in his fight against Tim Boetsch. :(

Mir knew exactly what would need to happen to get the chance at a submission. He knew that he was going to get pounded on.

I was as impressed with Frank as I was with Brock.

Heath looked out of it before the fight even started . . . Boetsch did great on such short notice.

So Brock has been training in a Gracie camp? You couldn't see it. I guess it takes much longer for BJJ to become second nature, especially when wrestling has been your nature your entire life.

I still say there's a lot of promise with this guy.

So I'm clear on BJJ...

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

I just got all confused with the BRJ...

BRJ = Big Red Jed 55 gallon can of whoopa$$. ;)

Brock needs to spend about 6 months with Matt Hughes' H.I.T. crew and he'll own the HW division.

it takes a long time to get comfortable with BJJ, I wrestled all my life, your natural tendencies as a wrestler usually puts a BJJ guy exactly where he wants to be on his back. As a wrestler your not comfortable on your back. I thought Lesner was pretty competent in the mount. Where he got caught was letting Mir grab and lock onto his ankle.

If by ankle you mean knee then I agree. :P

I can't believe so many folks felt that Mir would be a cake walk. Not necessarily people here, but all over the innerweb.

Brock will probably take a couple of months off and hit the mat and work on his submission defense and then jump into the octagon with Antony Hardonk, or Eddie Sanchez. Then we'll get to see some leather get thrown.

well honestly, the way Mir had looked in the two fights after coming back, I don't think it was a stretch to think he might get knocked out.

It'd be nice to have Mir back to form...

I don't think it's fair for an entire spacestation to be able to fight in this league. Who makes the rules for this stuff? A spacestation in a fight. Pffttt...

That was an "iffie" call imho. Most refs probably would have let that slide. Not much you can do when your punching down and your opponent ducks his head down and you hit him in the back of his head. Who knows though? The ref might have stopped a possible TKO.

The one point deduction without a warning was BS.

Frank Mir is a bad man tho.
