the mayor of dallas planned a parade for the Mavs before they won a championship the year we played the heat
kharma came back and kicked the city square in the nuts
it has a funny way of doing that

I wonder if they still want the 19-0 trademark? So very glad they didn't win!

I think it would be hard to get "19-0" to stand up. The way trademarks work is that the universe of possible trademarks is divided into four categories:
1. Fanciful - made up words, like "Exxon"
2. Suggestive - real words, but applied to something that isn't the actual thing itself. "Greyhound" for bus service, but not for a breed of dogs.
3. Descriptive - words that merely describe what the thing is, like "Vision Center"
4. Generic - "personal computer"
Trademarks that are fanciful/suggestive are the strongest marks, and easiest to get protection on. Descriptive marks can only get TM protection when they have acquired a "secondary meaning." Generic marks don't get TM protection.
I think "19-0" would be a descriptive mark. Without time for secondary meaning to attach, I don't think they would have been awarded the mark anyway.
How about a book instead?
