The Sooners are winning with smoke and mirrors.

Of course that blowout loss to KU doesn't help, but if we don't see some better shooting from our guards soon it could get ugly.

Coach is working wonders with what he has though.

we are outworking the other teams, that is why we are winning.

That is why OU has struggled the last few years because our guard play as been so poor. Unfortunately, Hollis Price and Corey Brewer aren't walking through that door. If you don't have solid guard play in college basketball you aren't going anywhere.

Those prove ONE thing;that stats prove NOTHING.For example we trail Baylor in most areas BUT we beat them in Waco.I'll take a winning team over a pretty team anytime.

We have played the top 2 teams in the league and a top half team on the road...and are sitting at 3-2. I am not willing to write this team off as smoke and mirrors. Not with wins like Arkie, WV, Gonzaga, Baylor, and an increasingly understandable loss to KSU.

We are winning with an really good front court. If the guards somehow get HOT in mid March we could be playing awhile.

It doesn't really prove that at all. It just means you're looking at the wrong statistics.

You guys win and lose based on your offensive effiency, and you're pretty good at it. At least when it's adjusted for your competition.

Poke around that site if you are so inclined, and you'll find lots of interesting tidbits.

That 30pt loss @Kansas really skews all the stats for us. That is why we win on smoke and mirrors alone.
