Okay... here it its...


We used to go fishing all the time. I love to fish... except I have this thing about taking the fish off of the hook once I've caught it.

Normally my dad would help me and take the fish off everytime I caught one. But one time when I was a bout 15 he decided it was time that I learned to do it myself. So when I caught this channel cat, he refused to take it off of the hook. "Ya need to do it yourself." I begged, pleaded and whined to no avail. Nope. He wasn't gonna do it for me.

I stood there with this fish on my hook wondering how to get it off. I finally asked my dad what he suggested I do. "Well, since you refuse to touch the fish with your hands, the only thing to do is lay in on the ground, then blow in its eyes till he stops flopping around. When he stops, you just pull the hook out."

I followed my dad's advice, laid the catfish on the ground, got down on my stomach and laid beside the fish, then proceeded to blow in his eyes. The damn thing wouldn't stop flopping around. My little sister kept yelling, "Blow harder, he's still moving." So I kept blowing harder and harder, but the damn thing wouldn't stop flopping around. Next thing I know, I hear this loud roar of laughter coming from across the way as my dad and some of his friends are watching me blow in the catfish's eyes. I had been punked - by my own father!






I never did get that fish off the hook.
