I got pulled over last night headed into Canadian. This road is in the middle of nowhere there are usually just a few cars on it. The previousl few nights when I would head into Canadian I would be doing 100-125 on this stretch of road. For some reason I just set the cruise to 75 (I guess really 76) and was jamming out to some killer tunes.

The deputy sheriff wrote me a warning. He was really nice and didn't go through the whole why are you driving fast blah blah blah. I just handed him my stuff said 'Yes sir' a few times and was handed a warning.

We used to drive 110-120 MPH in Nevada when I was working for Amoco now BP and there was no speed limit back in the eighties, it was all open range. A Mtn. Geophysical instrument truck took out a cow going about 100. Helicopters were alot more convienent back then but we had one of those crash killing a crew chief and landman. Oilfield stories never end...

Someone I know was doing 125-140 in new mexico on the way to the colorado game. Saw a cop hit breaks and got clocked at 90 in a 75.
