By telling lie about Romney within 30 days of the primary election. He claimed Romney called for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, which is false. Romney can't legally respond. To do so is a violation of the McCain_Feingold law. Is this correct? What a bunch of cr*p, eh?

With how many different positions Romney's had, it probably true. Romney just doesn't remember (lying sucks like that).

And bull**** like this is why I wish we'd just go back to the old way of just nominating people at conventions and voting there instead of these long-*** drawn out primaries. Instead of getting just 4 months of pure political bull****, we're stuck with 18 months of it now.

What? A politician isn't telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

Why any border state resident would vote for McCain is beyond me. He reiterated over the weekend, he still supports the provisions in the "shamnesty" bill he and Kennedy co-authored.

I think she would beat McCain. But, the more important thing is I don't want him. He's more of an economic liberal than "W", and maybe as dishonest as the Clintons themselves.

If you honestly think any other candidate is going to do something about it, then you're just kidding yourself.

that's ok rushy, because no matter who wins the country is going to have it shoveled up their *** and act like they like it brokeback style because they don't want to admit that the system needs to be demolished.

EVER THE OPTIMIST!

Simple credo I live by from David Broder.

Anybody who wants the presidency so much that he'll spend two years organizing and campaigning for it is not to be trusted with the office.

Simple credo I live by from David Broder.Among the candidates on the radar screen, IMO, the only one that might not have planned very long is Fred Thompson, most likely. Maybe Huckabee didn't plan too long.

You fail to recognize that anymore a large portion of border state residents are of the Mexican persuasion. ;)

from same blog:

For what it’s worth, Mike Huckabee is taking McCain’s side in this flap, despite the fact that McCain is objectively, demonstrably wrong. The former Arkansas governor might as well campaign while wearing a sandwich-board: “Dear John, please let me be your running mate. Love, Mike.”

When I get to the voting booth, I think I'm just going to close my eyes and point my finger toward the Republican side of the ballot.

The name closest to my fingertip is going to get my vote.

Well, um, I can't so I guess you got your wish. I have to sit back and wait for the party line idiots to pick which lying scumbag I have to vote for. Kind of sucks being an independent in that regard. At least since I am not a party line zombie, I can vote for the person who I feel is feeding me the least bullsh*t, not the person my fellow party members tell me I MUST vote for.

I don't know about your political leanings, but I contend a VERY significant number of independents are big govt. people who want to put the most socialist candidate into the republican candidacy. Hence the early successes of McCain and Huckabee.

Well, I actually hate Mr. gubment man all together. If I could vote in the Oklahoma republican primary, I would vote for Ron Paul. But Since I can't, I will vote for Obama is the presidential election this year just because I don't care for McBain

Only 18 months? Seems more like the running starts as soon as the previous election is over.

Just because there are large numbers of them here doesn't mean they can or will vote. Many of the ones of Mexican (or Texican in my wife's case) heritage born in the US or are here legally are against amnesty. If the ones who came here through legal means had to go through the system then those following should have to go through the system as well. It seems like most of the ones here legally who favor amnesty seem to be the ones who have a financial interest built upon the illegal immigrant population.
