Heh, last trip to Norman, I saw in town this mid-90s Caprice jacked up with about 4 feet clearance above the ground and 20-25 inch wheels. I laughed so hard, I almost wrecked. Then as I was coming back from the Interurban (or whatever its called now) area, I see the car in front of the Bail bondsman place over by the courthouse. "Figures" I said...

:D

There's a lifted El Camino that tools around Anchorage. Big ol' mudder tires on it.

I always chuckle to myself when I see it.

16x10 on a Z71 Chevy Truck. Big, stick out of the fender 4x4 wheels. Guess what state they were from. I'll give you a hint, it wasn't Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabamalabalamabaa, or Louisiana.

Big word guy. hehe. Have I ever told the story about how that started? I haven't put that on the radio for like 5 years and I still get comments about it. One of my best marketing schemes ever.

It started when me and my buddy Lance (who played the Big Word Guy on the commercials) would sit around watching Dallas play and drinking beer. By the 4th quarter we'd be good and buzzed and start screaming at the refs, coaches, etc and using big words like, "It's physically impossible to make the reception whilst being sexually molested by the defensvie back, Mr Referee!". We'd also use a lot of "veritable plethora". Anyway, I said how funny it would be to make a commercial with that stupidity in it. We did and it has totally stuck. So, Big Word Guy was born from watching Dallas play while drinking beer. BRILLIANT!

Dude, we used to do that in the Pride after they started telling us we couldn't say stuff "sucks".

"Your pass coverage is mediocre at best!" "It would behoove you to attempt more forcefully next time!"

Or the venerable "progress!, progress!, ambulate over the turf!" we used to chant in the late 70s." Though Coach let us say suck, Texas Bites and worse out loud in the stands.

Our "Glory Glory Chucky Fairbanks - You'll soon be 1 and 4" wasn't a hit with Barry Switzer and he called us low class M-Fs. Coach said it was the cleanest song he ever heard from The Pride at the time.
