Of course, they left out the bestest company to work for: United States Military.

possibly working for their corporate offices?

Not all Starbucks employees are baristas just as not all post office employees deliver mail. ;)

I thought Starbucks was one of those companies that gives health insurance to all its employees. I'm guessing that's a big factor.

EDIT: I looked it up, it's anyone working 20+ hours a week.

yermom
1/23/2008, 10:43 PM
that's certainly not the trend...

I worked for Deloitte when they were #8. They took great pride in being in the top 10. Despite the fact that everyone within the organization knew they got there by pandering to women and minorities.

Scott D

did you learn that from Google, Hamhock? ;)

Them's chump change numbers. We're looking at possibly 10K + this week if you believe the percentages they're throwing out.

I'll feel pretty lucky if I have a job this time next week. And no, we're not even close to sniffing the top 100.

Well, I made it thru the week, so I guess that means my badge will work Monday.

I don't think we're quite done yet, it was roughly 4K laid off this week in every corner of the world. One site closed, one site told they'll be closing in a couple months and an entire segment in OKC let go.

To get to the 10% number they've told shareholders to expect, we'll have to do another 4-5K in the next few months.
