The design of the Virgin Galactic tourist spacecraft was shown for the first time in New York City on Wednesday, with the actual spaceship under construction and about 60 percent complete.

Test flights are expected to start this summer, with commercial flights scheduled to begin a year later. Flights will last about two hours with 4.5 minutes of weightlessness (2 more minutes than most guys need).

The 60-foot-long SpaceShipTwo will be launched from a mothership called White Knight Two and can reach an altitude of about 68 miles.

More than 200 people have reportedly already put down deposits for the flights, which cost 100,000 pounds or $195,000.

$200,000 for weightless sex is a bit steep. :)

You could cut that price in half, but it's just not the same.

I would be a little scared of going into space in something that didnt say NASA in big letters all over it. Of course, even that isnt all that comforting these days.

That's not to mention the mess you'd have when it was over.

I've got news for them. That thing isn't going to work very well without windows.
