The design of the Virgin Galactic tourist spacecraft was shown for the first time in New York City on Wednesday, with the actual spaceship under construction and about 60 percent complete.
Test flights are expected to start this summer, with commercial flights scheduled to begin a year later. Flights will last about two hours with 4.5 minutes of weightlessness (2 more minutes than most guys need).
The 60-foot-long SpaceShipTwo will be launched from a mothership called White Knight Two and can reach an altitude of about 68 miles.
More than 200 people have reportedly already put down deposits for the flights, which cost 100,000 pounds or $195,000.
