My future daughter in law, who I absolutely adore, needs a job. She has a doctorate degree in biology. I think its actually in molecular biology. She has taught and done research work in different areas pertaining to biology and also has a lot of experience in immunology. We need her to be close to Oklahoma City. OU would be nice. :D

That might help, she can check for jobs listed at OU. If i hear anything in the Zoology department i will let you know.

There are two postdoctoral research associate positions available in botany/microbiology... Its with Dr. Jizhong (Joe) Zhou. he does really good work.

Thanks Fraggle and TopDawg. I'll email information over to her.

Is she HAWT?
Yes, shes pretty. Shes smart too. She makes my son happy but more importantly, she is very nice and attentive to my little granddaughter, which is the only way to get to my heart. :D

She lives in Tulsa right now but understands that my son needs to stay close to his daughter, who lives in the Oklahoma City area.

Molecular Biology? she needs to check out the Presbyterian Health Foundation Research Center (http://www.phfokc.com/). There's some biotechs (http://www.phfresearchpark.com/tenants.htm) in there.

Looks like they have a job board (http://feeds.feedburner.com/phfjobs).

A lot of good things are happening at OMRF (http://www.omrf.org/), too. My brother works there and loves it, though I guess some of the labs are harder to work in than others.

Oh, and I have an Americorps*VISTA (http://americorps.gov/) position open at my place. It only pays $830ish a month, but you get to work with me... :)

http://www.noble.org/Jobs/WebsiteEmployment/WebsiteEmployment.aspx Thanks but thats too far. She really needs somewhere in the Oklahoma City area. Norman would be about as far as she could drive. The granddaughter lives in Edmond and my son works in Yukon.

How in the heck does somebody with a marine biology background end up in Oklahoma? I'm trying to talk my kids into studying that just so they'll always live near a beach and I'll have cool places to visit.

I just had her on the line. She said that she applied at OMRH back in November and would love to work there, but hasn't heard back yet. If there are any helpers out there please send me a pm. Her resume is on file in Human Resources. She applied for the Scientist position in the Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology (DD) dept. :)

I know. Thats why she doesn't really emphasize that too much. :D

Marine biology is one of the most competitive fields out there. IT really is ridiculous. You have to be really really motivated. Really because "everyone" wants to work with big marine animals.

She could still easily get a position in Limnology (inland waters). Unfortunately most of those positions in Oklahoma that I know of come out of the OU Biostation on Texoma. Anyway, if i hear of anymore positions I'll let you know.
