I got a wedding invitation in the mail today for a good friend of mine getting married out in Lubbock in mid-March. I think I'll go, but I don't know anyone else that knows this guy. I've never even met his fiance. What do you do at a wedding where the only person you know is the groom and/or bride? Seems kind of boring to me.
Any of you hillbillies out in Lubbock want to get a drink or something?

**** the bridesmaids. Best course of action in that scenario.

That wedding was last year.
Seriously folks, what do you do at a wedding where you don't know a single person?
I still want to get drinks with some Lubbock folks.

dude, that's how weddings work. Do what you'd do at any other social event where you don't know anybody. Isn't that how most interactions go?

Most of Lubbock's in a dry county. Just so you know.
And the bars there are pretty ****ty. I was down there one time and the tech people took us to the "best bar in Lubbock" and it was a hole. Like the country bar in Blues Brothers. Man, I miss the Library just thinking about how lame that place was.

There's a "strip" right across the county line that's pretty much still part of Lubbock but like I said, the bars are pretty ****ty.

Just make sure you don't end up in Houston for the wedding.

It's called "getting to know people you just met." It's how many humans actually make new friends and acquaintances. You should try it sometime.
There a lot of better places to meet people than in Lubbock.
Lubbock makes Stillwater look good.

This is what I was thinking.
The 'getting there' is the problem here.

As scary as it sounds, he is right..
Does your Lubbock friend happen to look like Peter Brady or Justin Timberlake?

And is he woefully uninformed on the topic of "building kino"?

If Peter Brady is Sicem's friend, maybe he could give Sicem some pointers.

Come on now, SicEm came to the tailgate and was a hit! Maybe if the happy couple had a message board you could post on and meet some folk in a cyber way before going, it would help. Maybe you should suggest it to them! ;)
