Boat place1: hello, Boat Place 1
1TC: Hello, I have a blahblah boat with a blah blah motor and the trim indicator gauge doesn't work. Do you guys work on stuff like this?
BP1: Your trim doesn't work?
1TC: The prop moves up and down, the indicator gauge never indicates that the trim is moving.
BP1: So when you want to trim the prop up or down it doesn't move?
1TC: The needle on the trim indicator gauge does not move when I trim up or down, that is correct.
BP1: So does the prop move when you try to trim it up or down?
1TC: Yes.
BP1: So what's your problem?
1TC: I need a new gauge or something to indicate up/down on my trim.
BP1: We don't work on that kind of stuff.
1TC: Thanks

I had this conversation with three different boat shops. The fourth one knew what I was talking about and will fix it.

All of the phone numbers probably go to the same shop.

Sounds like they really want to see your trim.

Sounds like an ID-10T issue to me.

1tc, try deleting all rules from the parental control section, even if they have never worked.

That's what fixed my wireless router deal.

I was actually wondering if I wasn't using the correct terms. I'm new to this.

They were all different shops as one was in Ardmore, one at Lake Murray, one in Davis and the last was in Ardmore again.

Well, It's hard to know it without a trim indicator.

Seems like you found your place...;)

Amazes me how many people in business either don't get it or are successful in spite of themselves.

I thought trim indicators only work in bars.

Maybe you need some hydraulic fluid.

I think this must be fairly common with boats.........about half of my gauges don't work, one of them being fuel. But my trim indicator works like a mother ****er.

The last time this happen to me, this was my fix: First, spray some WD40 on the main centrifigul wobble bar(this is useually the crux of the problem). Next, find the screw on the top back side of the trim guage and turn it 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Turn the key on and mash the gas peddle three times. This should reset it. YWIA
