Sorry, call me whatever name you want, but we could be playing for the NC against Hook 'em and I wouldn't be there in that kind of weather. Even some of those B12 CCG games in Arrowhead have been too much for my previously frostbitten toes so I camped out in the restrooms for a good part of the game.

I'll take 120 any day over 20.

you can prepare for 20, you just have to suffer through 120

The '06 Big 12 Champ game was the coldest OU game I've been too. But I let the handwarmers and liquid spirits keep me warm. Not to mention the celebrating

I would take 20 over 120 any day, I hate the heat. As I have grown older I don't tolerate it as well as I used to. Now -20, that is another story.

My dad and I sat through some cold ones in my youth, there was a Missouri game one time in the 70's that had about a 40 degree temp drop during the first half and started snowing at half time. We had coats with us, but with the drop and the wind it just wasn't enough.

Ice storm at OSU in about '86 or '87. I have no idea what the temp was, but it was by far the most miserable game I've ever attended. People were getting frozen down to their seats.
Made me a believer in domed stadiums.

Either way, if you go prepared, you're not going to die. I'd go just to say that I went. I had a ticket to the ice bowl back in 85 and didn't go. To this day, I sorta wish I had.

We had tickets and didn't go, I had to wait for a friend to get off work and by then some friends already up in Stillwater called and told us what it was turning into. So we stayed in OKC.

The most miserable game that I sat through was the 88 Nebraska game, just a cold, steady drizzle that would go from wet to ice and back....and it was a loss, we had a flat on the way back to my friend's apartment. It was just a sucky game.

I sat through one of my high school's playoff games at Seminole one year when the gametime temp was in the teens. I'm surprised my lips didn't freeze to the mouthpiece of my trumpet.

So of course, the answer to this question is yes.

StormySooner-IN

Hell yes.

I went with my cousins HS basketball team a few years back, I was 11 to a Purdue Bball game (free tix). We had to walk 10 blocks in the snow, and it was about -18, colder windchill. Then we had to wait outside forever for god-knows-whatever reason. We probably outside for a little over an hour. Plus I had to pee really really badly.;)

Just wear a coat, youll be fine.:D

2007 OU vs Miamuh (hot and humid as hell, damn Floridians brought their pre-hurricane humidity with 'em).

2007 OU/Tejas (wasn't a whole lot better, and the game was intense, so the opposing fans didn't pile out early allowing us to breathe easier.

2006 OU vs NU (that sucked).

2000 OU vs K-State (that rool'd, mostly because I was so psyched just to be there that I didn't realize the hypothermia setting in).

If the players and coaches are there, so am I.

I would never ever skip a game due to weather.

And I agree with the folks who think hot weather is worse than cold weather. You can only get so naked when it is hot, but when it is cold, you just have to prepare by bundling up with however many layers are necessary.

THAT was football weather!

I went to the Colorado game in Norman two years ago, with the idea of moving back to Oklahoma. We left the game at half time--too cold--3/4 of the stands were empty by the second half. I still live in Houston and thinking of moving further South.

Football should be played in a Dome with cold beer and hot cheerleaders and a team that "hangs 50 before half time."

My dad, two friends and myself went to the OU-Nebraska game in Lincoln in either 1991 or 1992...I forget and have tried to. We sat on the top row of the end zone and were soaked from head to toe due to freezing rain half an hour before kickoff. We were prepared for cold, but not rain, and it showed. Our layers were soaking wet. At halftime my two friends left. I went and bought two cups of coffee, went to the bathroom, stripped off my coat and shirt and poured the coffee on me. I kid you not. The second half just sucked as Nebraska rallied from 14-0 to win 19-14 at the end thanks to Johnny Mitchell's circus catches.

It sucked cause the game remained close enough to keep us there...and then we lost. Most miserable physically I have ever been.

'06's problem was the wind chill was deceptively bitter. I wore jeans and a hoodie because it was 50-ish that afternoon, but when the sun went down the wind picked up and the temperature fell. Plus that was a very boring game.

I'll still take the 2000 B12CCG as the coldest I've ever been at an OU game.

What a bunch of pussies. 20 is cold? Man, I've probably been to two dozen football games when the temperature was that cold. Hell, every year in HS we'd play a baseball game or two when it was around 20 degrees. Actually, college games are better than HS, because, 1) you're generally more protected from the wind, and 2) you're not necessarily sitting on metal bleachers.

You have to be dressed pretty damn warmly to stay comfortable when it's zero degrees out.

Hottest game ever...? 2000 (or was it 2001?) against UTEP. It was a late kickoff, around 6:00, and I think it was 107. I drank thirteen beers and never had to ****.

EDIT: So you can say vah-j-j but you can't say mictorate?

That cu game was chilly. I remember one back in the 70's against the nebbish that was worse. When the South endzone was still the wooden bleachers. We were sitting high in the North end and the wind was howling. It seems like it snowed a little, but I don't remember for sure, just remember it was damn cold. My dad told me to suck it up......I was like 7 or 8 I think! Any of you long time Sooner fans remember that one?
