i hope so. any team we put on the floor is gonna have a hard time scoring points w/out Blake to keep people honest. otherwise, teams will dare us to beat them from the outside (like last year)....and we rarely shoot above 40% without the better looks people give us when they have to sag on Blake.

True NT but in this case it's the right way to play it. Try to slow the game down, keep it ugly and hope we can find a way to score enough points. With such a depleted roster what else would you have Capel do?

i will say that RMK's teams have run us (Kelvin's teams) ragged on backdoor and easy layups at times. at least that's not the case today. playing solid D. Tech helping us some by 1. not being very good and 2. sloppy with the pill.

ATM = overrated.

OU showed a lot of fight today, but I don't think we played as well as we could have. I did expect lower scoring and fewer possessions because Blake is out, but today showed we really need him back. OU needs someone (other than Crocker and Longar) to step up and really score on the offensive end, and I'm glad Taylor was hitting shots and grabbing boards. I hope he keeps this up and becomes someone who can score some points off the bench. That and I wish Godbold would hit more shots, but he did chip in and he made a big basket toward the end.

SleestakSooner

KU is obviously the top team, after that I really don't know who should be next. Baylor is looking decent but haven't really been tested by a good team yet. Texass seems mediocre and aTm the same. KSU may just be the second best team in the league right now!

If Blake can make it back soon and the team can keep pulling out victories until he does I like our chances of going .500 in the league. Right now the Sooners need another road win or two though.

i don't see where we will get one. maybe cu? it's just hard to win on the road when you don't have alot of scoring options off the bench.

After losing to KSU at home, the Sooners have to win all their remaining home games and at least one on the road to make .500 in conference play. Not saying they will do that definately, but it's still quite possible.

Crocker saved the day today.....again.

Go back and look at all of our close wins and you'll find Crocker making some huge shots.

Down 45-38 today, things weren't looking good, but Crocker came down and hit a three with a man in his face. That got us back within 4, and from there, we never looked back.

Taylor was excellent down the stretch as well, but Crocker has been our go-to guy all season when our offense needs some ressurecting.

IMO, the improvement of Crocker from last year is profound, and yet another example of Capel's influence on this team/program.

Good win today-- that's what we need to do w/o Blake. Turn it into a grudge-match, because we're pretty darn good in those "who wants it more" type of situations.

My only real complaint from today came at the end of the game...

What was AJ thinking? There was barely a 3 second difference in the shot clock and game clock. We could have simply held the ball and throw it high in the air before the shot clock buzzer and time would have expired. Instead, AJ headed to the hoop with over 10 seconds left, threw up a wild shot, and gave TT a chance to tie or win at the buzzer. Thank God it didn't cost us.

I agree that Crocker has been much better this year, and I do like him with the ball in his hands if a shot needs to be taken. I just don't like how emotional he gets when he's challenged. If he would keep his head I feel he would be more consistent. Hopefully Coach is already teaching him that as well.

To me though, Longar playing with aggressive confidence is the biggest difference between this year and last.

AJ has been a huge disappointment in home games this season. I know he's been playing hurt and that is probably the cause. But man he's been playing like **** at home and until the Kansas game was doing great on the road... what is up with that? His g/f needs to quit going to the home games or something!

Agreed, that's the been their MO this season. They are a talented team, Huggy Bear didn't leave the cupboard bare there and they've actually been playing without a key player for most of the season.

You just have to wonder if their staff, who is there so Beasley wouldn't leave, can coach them through a tough confernece.
