The problem with the current location, IMHO, is the fact the jackhole who owns the building is trying to fort-up his parking lot with big steel stobs and mechanical arms and such. Its getting danged hard for Dean to get the Deannebago in and out of its parking spot.

What's more, if there are any cars parked along that row just to the west of where Dean backs in the fifth wheel, he cannot get in, or get out -- again, thanks to Fortress Parking Lot v1.0

Personally, I'd support being somewhere else, even more remote, if it meant Dean and Mrs. Dean could get more convenient access.

Maybe you're onto something. Why don't you tailgate by yourself down there for the next 3-4 seasons, and get really well acquainted with the area. Figure out which spot would be the absolute best, and then report back. If you get right on it, maybe SF could consider moving sometime around the 2012 or 2013 season.

We stayed there for the OU/osu game - it was a nice place to stay. Plenty of room, easy to get into and out, plus electric.

The cost is $40/day with electric, or non-electric for $15/day.

You guys have fun down there!

With a good-sized RV, there's not too many places near the stadium to set up. We enjoyed tailgating at LNC before and after the game......

Plus, we were not worried about damaging the RV trying to get into the parking area, which is something some of us are concerned.

just sayin...

r5TPsooner
1/19/2008, 05:27 PM
My only issue with the current digs is the tightness in parking a bigger size vehicle. Also, it seems that SF is outgrowing the room available, as it was pretty crowded most of the time. When we parked north of the stadium twice this year we were out of Norman three times as fast as being parked in the mosh pit near the stadium at Casa Blanca.

Hey, if I had my own RV, maybe I would join you down there in the sticks. But as long as Dean is willing to put his in the current location, and has a deal worked out with the owner of Casablanca, I think it's the opinion of pretty much everyone who actually attends that one that the current location is vastly superior.

Since I haven't heard Dean bitch about it yet, I wonder why anyone is concerned about moving it?

So, I go out up here in Baltimore, have a couple drinks and some supper, come back to the hotel, and there's this?

Let me set the record straight:

Dean is a tailgate opportunist. Show me a better place that will actually work, and I'll be on it like a tick on a cur dog's ***. I am more than willing to pull up stakes and move to any spot that is easily accessible, close to the stadium, gives me power and water, and has at least a little space for the faithful to park. I don't even mind paying a little (we do now).

That being said, Dean is still under 90 years old. Dean still enjoys having a good time. Dean is still semi-independent. Dean's wifes hair isn't blue yet. Dean doesn't ride public transportation unless he's in NYC or DC. Dean doesn't enjoy pulling his RV into the local KOA. In other words, Dean still has a pulse, and some semblence of a life.

Therefore, the day my RV pulls into the LNC parking lot for a football tailgate (if it's BB, then no problem) will be the day that I've sold that sucker to some other schmuck. I mean seriously, why? Why would anybody go park with all the other dildoes when there's an opportunity to park somewhere better? I only have to walk a couple blocks to the stadium, there's a convenience store about 100 yards away, Campus Corner is about 150 yards away, the Greek House is across the parking lot, and the owners of the building have been nothing but great to us. Other than the parking poles (which may eventually cause us to vacate the AO) it's been all good.

So, if a better situation presents itself for the SF.com tailgate I'll be on it. The LNC would be considered........if nothing else was available.

And seriously Rus, you can't call popping in for a nanosecond to pick up your shotgun the same as attending a SF.com tailgate. We appreciate your sponsorship of the Utah St. tailgate, but it's not the same as being there. Just sayin'....

Did you know you have a way with words?

So, I go out up here in Baltimore, have a couple drinks and some supper, come back to the hotel, and there's this?

Let me set the record straight:

Dean is a tailgate opportunist. Show me a better place that will actually work, and I'll be on it like a tick on a cur dog's ***. I am more than willing to pull up stakes and move to any spot that is easily accessible, close to the stadium, gives me power and water, and has at least a little space for the faithful to park. I don't even mind paying a little (we do now).

I defer to Dean, but still submit Lloyd Noble is a great location...however, I fully understand why many would want to stay at Casablanca...you should check out Lloyd Noble sometime though, I would compare it to RV parking at the Texas State Fair for OU/tx and at Arrowhead for Big XII Championship games...

Yeah, I would too. Just like I'd compare eating a great steak to Sizzlin' Sirloin or Golden Corral.

dont forget the handiness of that sub place that has a ****ter for the men

sometimes the line is long, but damn its real handy after eating that elk chili

you wont find that at the LNC

when i do swing by the tailgate, i like that its CLOSE to the stadium (unlike the LNC), its on the north side of the stadium making it easier to get out of Norman and campus corner is TWO blocks away
