my day off and i can't sleep past 6
this sucks.

oh...and I hate taxes. I got what I thought was going to be a very nice bonus this year and they took out FORTY TWO PERCENT in taxes. that's right FORTY TWO PERCENT

effing ridiculous. let's not forget that with the remainder, I will be paying more taxes on everything I buy. this sucks. and not in a good way.

And some of you people are so committed to finding problems with the Fair Tax. I'd be ecstatic just to pay taxes on what I spend....oh wait, let's just stay with this perfect system we already ENJOY.....

I'm off today as well . . . my wife is normally off, but had to go in for parent/teacher conferences at the pre-school she teaches at so I got to sleep in about an hour longer than normal. I guess 6:30 was a little better than 5:30.

Of course now I'm having to get the girls around for school . . . will be staying for their awards assembly and then going back to eat lunch with them.

So much for a lazy day off. :D

A heavily taxed bonus is better than no bonus at all.

That is the standard rate they withhold taxes (you're also including the 7.65% FICA tax in your 42%). Good news is that you will get it back when you file your return, if they withheld to much.

nope, no naps for me. too many errands to run. like going to the bank, and i gotta get my nails done and get a pedicure, then I gotta go pick up my daughter's homecoming dress (she's the freshman attendant), then she has a basketball game, then I gotta take her to get her hair done and get her a pedicure and a manicure, then we gotta go to the boys' basketball game where she'll wear her homecoming dress for 15 minutes at halftime.

Maybe yes, maybe no, I had a good sized bonus a couple of years ago which put me into the next tax bracket by about $300. So it ended up eating a little more than what the bonus was, so in effect I had less than before.

I was not happy about that......
