Which would make the team that beat them, twice, what? 'Beyond Classification'?

Terrific, this means that as we thought, the BCS computers suck
Shocker

Missouri just saw the word Tigers and assumed it meant them, they'll issue a coverup tomorrow when they learn that the computer really said Louisiana State before Tigers.

So, apparently, the BCS bowls don't mean squat, and LSU, UGA, USC, WVU, and KU all had meaningless victories. Go Mizzou!1!!1!one!

Wow...

That's really just silly! 2 teams ranked above the conference champion, one of whom we beat twice and who in turn beat the other!

I have aserious feeling that next year is gonna be even more unpredictable and exciting than this last season.

why would the computer care who won the conference or how much their bowl game paid?

Mizzou also beat a team that beat the BCS champs ;)

True enough, but still shows what happens when SOS and quality wins are removed from the formulas.

Maybe this particular poll had a SOML, Strength of Mulligan Loss, and that's what pushed Mizzou over the top.

Actually..Mizzou beat TWO teams that beat both of the teams in the BCS Championship Games..and one of those teams played in a BCS Game (Illinois). And both of Mizzou's losses were the best losses you caN HAVE. To a Top 5 team, and BCS Bowl Participant.

Not to mention beating Kansas and Texas Tech pretty Soundly.
I could see how the "computers" look at Mizzou a certain way.

Mizzou played more games against teams that played in BCS Bowls than anyone else (4)

But no matter how many props you give mizzou...

WE BEAT THEM TWICE!

Shouldn't you have to win a few NCs for real before you get to start counting them Bama style?

I would like to point out that us beating MIzzou, and Mizzou beating Kansas, does not equate to us beating Kansas.

missouri fan has a strong cretinous streak that success brings out. it's not the same tenor, but it's sort of like CU fan.

I can hardly wait for Mizzou's fake championship rings to hit eBay. Move over, Auburn! (http://cgi.ebay.com/2004-AUBURN-TIGERS-NATIONAL-CHAMPIONSHIP-RING-10K_W0QQitemZ110213005261QQihZ001QQcategoryZ24548Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

FWIW I believe I read that KU had 2 different computer ratings that ranked them #1. I'm pretty sure we had at least one computer rating rank us #1 in 04 even after game where Ashley Simpson sang at halftime.

i'd be willing to wager that all of the computer polls still use SOS

it's just not used again in the final BCS numbers anymore
