View Full Version : Dangit, the crud has stuck with me for two weeks now.

I've moved from fever stage to sore throat state to headache/sour stomach stage. Now I can't sleep due to a persistent cough. Hopefully, these nasty-tasting cough drops will fix me up soon. However, situations like this make me re-evaluate my mortality. If I don't pull through, I want to make sure my affairs are in order.

I, crawfish, being of as sound mind and body as I have ever had in my lifetime, do bequeath the following in the event of my untimely death.

To Howzit, I leave my spek. Use it wisely.
To Pat, I leave my post count, so he can take off 2-3 days and get a life.
To PG, I leave my avatar. The pot must be stirred!
To 1TC, I leave my PM archive, to remember his unhealthy obsession by. No means no, dude!
To the SO, I leave my location. It's getting crowded out there.

God bless you all. May The SO carry on in my absence. If it can.

I woke up with a sore throat last Friday and have been coughing up phlem since about then. I went to the Dr. on Monday and got a shot of something or another, a Z pack, some awesome cough syrup and some Chantix.

Last night I took one pull from the cough syrup and I was out. I haven't slept that good in years. My throat is fine now but I'm still hacking stuff up.

yes. It's not for my throat or lungs though. I just thought I would give a detailed account of what I got from the Dr. and pharmacy. ;)

It was probably because you were so mean to me yesterday.

I certainly hope you are in a better frame of mind today, my fragile psyche can't take another battering like that.

I'm afraid of catching something worse in your waiting room.

After making a couple of circuits around the upper respiratory system, mine seems to have settled in my nose and front sinuses. I can't remember the last time I smelled anything besides snot. :(

Mine started out with a sore throat for a week and a half. It went away for 3-4 days, and then the fever and cough came. Fever for a week. Averaging about 101. As high as 103. Night sweats. After a doc's visit, multiple blood tests, a chest X-ray, and probably a gazillion bucks in medical costs, I find out that I have pneumonia.

After a flu shot, a pneumonia vaccine, a high-powered antibiotic shot in the ***, and a week of 'spensive antibiotic tabs, I finally feel better, although a bit like a pincushion. Pneumonia is the succ. Make sure that's not what you have.

My sister teaches HS in Frisco TX and almost her whole dept. is out with the flu. I've had the stomach crud and it was terrible. I feel for ya man.

I have pretty much been fighting it since Christmas Day, now when I start to feel better the allergies take over and drag me right back down.
