I have an answer for them; but before get to that, let me say that I completely agree that's purely idiotic when our fans hold up the upside down horns sign at any other game than the RRSO. I blush when it happens, because I would think the same thing if I were a horns fan: "What, is that really what they use as they're hand sign? Ours upside down? Geez, get a life."

It's the kind of thing that falls on the wrong side of the spectrum of school traditions - the end where Texas A&M reigns as king of the "chip-on-our-shoulder-towards-a-better-school" attitudes. The last (and only) time I went to a game in Cultage Station, the things that stood out to me were 1) a very creepy feeling that everyone had been brain-washed, and 2) that they didn't have one shred of tradition that didn't have a referene to Texas in there somewhere.

So, I'm all for making sure the entire Sooner Nation makes a collective pact to only use the upside down horns sign during the week of the RRSO.

Now . . . back to my first point. When I get a horn down here who gives me grief about our not having a hand sign of our own, I simply look at them with a startled gaze and say, "we have a signal. don't you know what it is?" They say, "you do? show me." Then I say, "First, show me yours again." They put up their horns with pride. Then I simply say, "Now, just lower that pinky back into your first. There now, that's OU's hand signal."
