Eddie, my Scottish buddy, walked up to a young lady next to me at the bar and told her that she should take me home and help me celebrate. To my surprise she took one look and told him she would. I'd suggest a #4 for ANY numbered birthday - take part of the day to do something special you wouldn't normally do for yourself, and have a great time. If you're someone who wouldn't enjoy getting plastered, don't let anyone talk you into it. Spend time around people you really like and avoid people that drive you around the bend screaming. Have at least one decadent chocolate thingie, and spend the day telling people it's your special day; you deserve the kudos and warm fuzzies. Sing "Happy Birthday to Me" at the top of your lungs at least once that day. Let people you love spoil you.

And if you feel like it at the end of the day, have a celebrational drink (with alcohol or not) and toast yourself before you go to bed. Lastly, glory in the day, and your youth, and your life - if you are alive to read this..you are blessed beyond measure.

Beware of overstuffing on deserts. On my 21st, I went to lunch at Chili's with my friends, and for desert I got one of those chocolate volcano things. (I don't remember if my friends ordered it or they just gave it to me for my birthday.) Then for dinner I went with my family to Bennigan's, and for desert theere I got a free brownie a la mode. By the time I got home, I was sick to my stomach, making me probably the only person to get sick on his 21st birthday without drinking any alcohol.
