I see the defense looking like this next year..

CB - Dominique Franks
CB - Lendy Holmes
SS - Austin Box/Keenan Clayton - HE BETTER STEP IT UP
FS - Nic Harris
LB - Mike Reed
LB - Ryan Reynolds
LB - Lamont Robinson
DE - Auston English
DT - Gerald McCoy
DT - DeMarcus Granger
DE - R.J. Washington

Stacy McGee, Jontae Bumpus, Frank Alexander, and Jeremy Beal will get some reps too...What's everyone else's take?

Does anyone know if John Williams is coming back, because he wasn't announced at senior day, and I am pretty sure he is eligible for a 6th year

Don't think anything has been decided on it yet

Don't think anything has been decided on it yet Actually, he's already received word that he's been granted a sixth year. He'll sit out the spring while he rehabs.

Okay,then.that's the de.
Who does our ball carrying?
DM - but his injury is said to be worse than thought and the surgery less effective than hoped (ESPN news line today - I forget the source, sorry)
Madu - what's the word on him from those who have seen him play (I have not). Seems like a good one, but I don't know.
Calhoun- film looks like he's ready to play, anyone out there know?

Losing AP and Gute and now Brown and DM looking like question marks is one hell of a shot to take even if our backfield was pretty deep.

Opinion?

Seriously, after all the bitching 95% of this board made about all the players and coaches WTH are we worrying about?

Reggie can't cover or field a punt. Malcolm only plays half the plays. Snuffaluffagus is too slow for his position. Spooge McMonkey is a coach in over his head. The Warner twins have lost their fire...

Come on people...do these players and coaches suck and we need new blood or are they great and on the edge of a great season?

Just askin'

Our schedule looks favorable and we have plenty of guys who can step up. I'm looking forward to next year.

I look forward to next year after every season. Just wish I had some kinda suspended animation chamber to put myself in until September.

It's called bourbon. It comes in bottles and is sold in special stores in most states. I would recommend a slow and steady application, along with devotion to Cartoon Network until August 21st.

Ya I know, I just hate it when people call Nic a free safety. It's one of my pet peeves. He is not a FS and will never be a FS no matter how many people list him as one. Nickel Back people...Nickel Back...there is a reason he lines up on the linebacker level. And frakly, he's going to end up as a stud OLB in the NFL whether he likes it or not.

Are all of these guys first round picks? Or just being fed a line by agents.
If you can improve your pick by staying in school -stay--the difference between a early second round and a mid-first round is almost $800K a year or $4MM over a five year contract. Are these guys getting wise advise, however, if the player falls to the third round or latter then they have made a very poor choice unless the climate at OU is a place where you just don't want to stay.

Just got back from vacation -- where's the thread where we speculate on why we've got so many juniors declaring this season?

Or, have we already formed some kinda consensus? I know Stoops believes in giving kids honest advice, and tells 'em that if they're ready for the NFL, they should probably go, but it sure is frustrating sometimes. Petey boy and Mac don't seem to have any qualms about heavily "recruiting" their "draftable with eligibility remaining" players.

Brown had what is considered minor surgery. He'll be fine and hopefully, DM will make a solid recovery. Mossis is pretty solid (jitterbug type compared to CB's hammer approach which is a nice compliment) Calhoun should be ready to play, and I think he will.
I wonder with our question marks there if J Johnson will be RS'd as a RB in case, instead of playing him on D.

I've heard we're going after a juco to fill the MLB spot, or they may move Reynolds there. I think L Robinson can do a good for us next year and I don't see him on anyone's lists.

If we get a commit from J.R Bryant, where do you see him fitting in here?

Lewis Baker and Reggie Smith moving on will only make this team better.

Baker busted more coverages than any Sooner in history. See Baylor 05 or Boise St 06(07 bowl).

Reggie was a playmaker at times but was not physical on defense for most of his career and clueless at catching punts. If he caught it, good things tended to happen...if.

If we get a commit from J.R Bryant, where do you see him fitting in here? Depends on how Lewis, Box and Clayton improve and if Reynolds can handle the MIKE. Bryant can play all three positions, but I've heard he's more of a SAM.
