My clone proposed it on his radio show, and I think it's a good idea. I'm tired of paying drycleaning and laundry bills, and will vote for the first candidate that offers this in her platform.

And you wonder why no one else listens to your hero.I guess not all liberals listen to him, but the most successful radio talk show in history is doing well.

Besides, why not Universal Laundry?

I'd rather have universal BJs, but that's just me.

Seriously, it looks like Rush would be for Universal Health Care since he has been on the dole himself. Plus maybe he could finally get that breast reduction and tummy tuck he has been so wanting.

What, he didn't exhaust unemployment benefits at one point in his illustrious career? Isn't unemployment benefits a government safety net?

I know it is more fun to make fun of people, call them names and whatnot like Rush does, but the world might be a lot better off if he would turn his keen eye upon himself. I can't stand his ilk on either side of the aisle and he is much more devisive to this country than any terrorist.

I haven't heard him say he thinks unemployment benefits are not a valid function of govt. 2) What names are you saying Rush is calling people? (and how would you know anyway if you don't listen to his show?) You are for real with these questions, aren't you?. You of all people prolly ought to listen to his show for a couple of weeks, to hear what he really talks about.

Would universal laundry lower our costs through economies of scale and bureaucracy reduction while giving us all cleaner clothes? If so, I'd give it some serious though.

we all know that the poor would have to wait in lines while the rich got their laundry done whenever they wanted, with Downy fabric softeners. the poor would still have skidmarks on their undies

Dry cleaning included or just laundry?

If you can afford a private supplemental laundry service you can use it, but nobody should have to walk around with pit stains.

If so, I'd give it some serious though. It will create a new bureaucracy, thereby providing more government jobs, and monumentally expanding the laundry industry. Would that be good?

who will decide what colors will be washed with what, and at what temperatures?

I suggest the government forms several commitees to over see each type of laundry load. Socks and Tighty Whitees, Greys and Dark Colors, and Towels. there will also need to be a special commitee to oversee special laundry service, in case people have to wash a quilt or those fuzzy bath mats from the bathroom floors

Does this mean I won't have to save my quarters for the laundrymat?Yes, all laudering and dry cleaning will be "free". I would imagine washers and dryers will be provided free for any home that requests them.

I'll take two of each. You know.... in case one of 'em breaks or something.

I'm not going to sell them for cash or anything.... promise.

I'm not going to sell them for cash or anything.... promise. You should be prepared for lots of forms to fill out, and you might not qualify for that second set of appliances. If your dwelling isn't large enough, or you don't have enough people in the house to qualify for that second set. Just don't dirty-up your clothes too fast.

In the interest of accuracy, why not change your name to "I am Rush Limbaugh's Parrot"? Just a thought, and YWIA for the great suggestion.

I think OCUDad covered this much better than I possibly could, now back to the original point of the thread:

If Halliburton owned a bunch of dry cleaners, I bet this might get passed.

:twinkies:1) Since you don't listen to him, you have no real idea what he says, other than what his enemies(liberals, progressives, socialists) want you to think about him.2) I'm older than he is, and have had my political and economic thoughts long before I ever heard his radio show. 3) The guy is hilarious, and right on with his show. Check it out.

Did he propose universal oxycontin too? Cause that would so rock.

Interesting. You claim that there's no way to find out what he says on his show except by listening to it.

If that's the case, why do you bother coming over here and telling us what he says? I don't know he actually said anything about universal laundry. Personally, I think you're making it up.
