Is it possible to plug my ipod into my computer and access it like a removable drive? If I do that can I look at the songs as files and pull the songs off of it and then put them on my computer and then back into itunes?

Am I making any sense?

"not without 3rd party software, unless you have bought them from iTunes"

"more than normal"

That's what I want is the songs I bought from iTunes. I'm rebuilding my iTunes and don't want to lose the CD's I already buyeded once from Mr. Jobs.

Try downloading MediaMonkey . . . just be sure you're comfortable accessing the iPod directories. I don't think the names and stuff of the songs are readily visible. You might have to do some digging. The only other thing is that I think to move DRM'd iTunes tunes is that you need to burn them to a CD and then re-rip them to your PC to remove the DRM (Digital Rights Management).
