What's the tax rate on short term gains in the stock market?
I was able to purchase shares of my company's stock at a 15% discount on the price of the stock at either Jan 1, 2007 or Dec 31, 2007 whichever was lower.
Jan 1 2007 was quite a bit lower. I paid 63.461 per share and it's currently trading near $82.
If I sell the stock how much is Uncle Sam gonna want? How long do I have to hold the shares to decrease what I owe the Man?
