At the current matchup illustrates, when a bowl is locked in to the winners of two conferences, a bad matchup is more likely that when the bowls choose the best teams available. Think how much larger the viewing audience would be if USC were playing Missouri. The Rose Bowl Committee's "tradition" is diminishing the luster of the Granddaddy Of Them All.

On the radio broadcast i was listening to in the car it said the USC players have been jawin at the Illinois players because they as well know that Illinois doesn't belong in the game. Some of the players were overheard saying it was just a "free game" for the illinois players.

Man I wish we were playing USC...but of course at full strenght. Good thing we did not go to the Champ game against LSU without Reggie, Granger and Lendy. We could probably handle tOSU without those guys, but not USC or LSU.

We could have destroyed VATech without half the team IMHO.

I dunno ... living in the ATL I see a lot of Florida and Georgia (as well as their replays all season) and they seem way worse than SUC ... almost like a gang mentality. Meatchicken handled Florida the right way by punching them in the mouth from the very start of the game and not letting them get into their packdog persona.
