What games do you love? What else are you using the PS3 for? Any cool downloads you've found? Tips, tricks, hacks?

Who wants to be my PS3 buddy?

I almost bought one at Christmas...

I saw that there were so many just sitting on the floor not being bought that I got scared off....plus the games are $60.00 each...

I might get one someday...

I'm "sooner2112" when I'm online. I was occasionally playing Call of Duty 4 online, but haven't been on for a week or more. Got tired of getting pwned by 15yo punks (like my son and his friends). :)

Yeah it is...Its has a lot of levels for sure. She played it for a long time and I thought she had to be at least 3/4 thru the game and she wasn't even half way done

I have no idea about Ratchet and Clank.

Well since I'm an addict of Rachet and Clank on the PS2...

I'm betting the PS3 would have me beggin the Wifey for secs after two or three days of a PS3 marathon...

Ratchet and Clank: TOD is the best game I've played on the PS3 so far.

The PS3 is worth the purchase price as a solid BD player, but the games are getting better as well. Undiscovered is a lot of fun.

I'm about 50% done on it. It is pretty cool. How long until they make it a movie?

I'm still waiting for the Peter Jackson-produced Halo movie to come out of limbo. there's plenty of story there for a sweet sci-fi action movie.

I have no idea, because when it comes out I'll probably still be lining people up for head shots.

I HATE games with jumping puzzles, but it doesn't bother me so badly on this one.

I recently bought the 40Gb version, mainly for the Blu Ray player. You can also use it to stream your itunes content to your TV through wifi. Just download and install Orb from orb.com (it's free) then search for media servers from your PS3 dashboard. I still have some network errors with some video files, but it looks promising.

Sorry Andy...

Just got back from Best Buy.

Took the Guitar Hero II back...they didn't have another to replace it.

They had plenty of the $89.00 Wireless PSIII ones though.

They also had a pile of PSIII Game Platforms stiing around for $399.99.

Man it was tempting, but the Wife was there with me so I got out with just a refund of the GHII and absolutely nothing else.

It felt good to leave with money but I still want that PS3 bad. :D

I would have bought the $89.00 Wireless PS3 Guitar and the $49.99 GH2 Game for PS2 if the darn thing would work with the PS2 Platform. The guy working there said it only works on the PS3.

I only have GHIII and Madden08 but haven't unwrapped it since we got back. I mainly got the PS3 for the Blu-ray player, I had an old X-Box before so I had no PS2 library. If you do have a PS2 library I would suggest you get the upgraded PS3 (60gb or 80gb) since it is designed to be backward compatible with the older PS2 games. The 40gb is suppose to have a very limited PS2 compatibility.

Playstation.com - PlayStation® and PlayStation®2 Format Software Compatibility Status for PLAYSTATION®3 Hardware (http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/CompatibleStatus)

I did get a Toshiba HD-DVD player on sale at BestBuy in OKC while we were up there, so I am covered on both formats. I do plan on building a HTPC instead of trying to use the PS3 for such things. I have the MotoGP online subscription and get tired of hooking the laptop up to the big screen to watch he races, so a dedicated HTPC will serve that purpose and as a media server.

Talking about Guitar Hero for PS2 not being wireless capable?

My niece has GH, GHII, GHIII, and GH80s for her PS2. She has a wired guitar and a wireless guitar. Also has a wireless dance mat for her DDR.

Plenty capable.

I have spent more time watching Blu-ray movies on it than playing games. I got Madden 08 for Christmas and still haven't played it yet. Once football season is over with I am sure that I will start playing games some more.

I am pretty sure the GHIII PS2 version comes with a wireless adapter like the PS3 version.

I rarely use it for playing games. Probably 80% of the time I'm using it for BD playback, 10% of the time SACD playback.

would this take care of your bluetooth remote issue and let you use your harmony? I may be more trouble than it's worth.

I'm just going to wait until Sony makes a dongle specifically for the PS3 to do this. It's a tad annoying to have to use two remotes, but I'm kind of over it.

The Nyko Bluewave remote is supposed to be a good solution, provided you have a good universal remote. Logitech's Harmony remotes combined with the Nyko dongle work well according to the reviews at amazon.
