First off, anytime the Big 12 beats the Pac 10, it's a good thing. Even if it's Texas doing the whipping.

Second, Mack and Chris' excuses that they thought the play had been blown dead just don't wash. Under no circumstances should your a** be on the field if you're not a coach or a player, period. There's absolutely no reason why you should have to pick up a ball that is still on the field of play.

There are 7 refs and 22 players on the field who can pick up the ball. They don't need some staffer who just happens to be the coach's stepson to do that job.

Regardless of it was wrong or not cus it was, the refs were wrong for even calling the play because they were reviewing if it was a forward pass or not and you cant go back and review one play and make a completely different call(remember Ou recovering the onside kick)...why is it that refs cant get it right for the BIg 12 when we play out of conference???

Again, as i asked when it happened on the game thread last night... How and why were they so far past the "get back" line?!?! That fatass Lamedog needs to do his friggin job! Everyone laughs at the strength coachs/get back coaches but now everyone sees why they are needed. There are jack@sses like this on EVERY D-1 team too. If the strength coaches would have been doing their job this would have never happened and we wouldn't be talking about it.

I am still laughing at that entire turn of events last night. Ten times funnier that it happened to Texas.

But seriously, who cares if he touched the ball. Texas just as easily could have been flagged for having 28 people on the field. If you watch when Jessie reaches for the ball, several other coaches and players are a yard in play. Easy call if the officials choose to do that. Even Mack can't argue that one.

Overlooked on the play: the incredible play by the large d-lineman to knock the ball back in bounds. And the overweight coach who about tackled Jessie after his brush with destiny. That was the funniest thing during the whole play IMO.
