If a person happened to be an Appalachian State University fan or alum, 2007 was a perfect year.

Their lovely Boone, NC campus

They beat the mighty University of Michigan Wolverines (still the all-time winningest team in college football) and the entire college football world paid attention.

Apparentlly, ASU sports scientists have developed human flight.

At the end of the season, App. State became the first team in history to win the 1-AA national championship three years in a row. Their champeenships are undisputed because they won them by advancing through a no kiddin' college football play-off system.

So, here's to you, you scrappy Mountaineers. Take a pull off'n that jug, make that banjo ring, kiss all the purty gals in yore holler, and sleep in heavenly peace.

I been up there a time or two. Even though its in NC, and you would think it would be hot in summer, they don't need A/C because its up in the Smokies and stays nice and cool in summer.
