View Full Version : Can't Sell My Orange Bowl Tickets

I live in Orlando and have been buying 4 tickets to the Orange bowl for several years now in the hopes that if the Sooners are playing there I'll be set. I has worked out for me a bunch of times. I usually sell them on E-bay if the Sooners don't make it. This year has me really sour for 2 reasons: 1) OU should be playing VT and got hosed 2) I can't even sell the tix for less than face value!

What the heck? I figured Kansas fans would be coming down in droves since they have not been to a BCS bowl before. Or worst case I'd sell to a rabid VT fan, but nothing....it's down right pitful. The stinking Capital One bowl here in Orlando sold out in 3 days and people are paying premium to get there hands on tickets. It's not even a stupid BCS bowl game....

Any theories on why the fans are so lame and the tickets are selling way below face for a BCS bowl? Same thing happened last year for Wake and Louisville. I kinda figured on taking a loss for that game because the fan base for both those schools is small but geez....VT & Kansas? Come on.....

Go to a Kansas board. They have already sold out of their allotment for tickets.

go over to techsideline.com. They have a ticket board there. If your seats are lower level you might have some luck. I've read over there about people complaining because they can only find upper level.

Ok thanks.......I'll try that but I was more curious on why you guys think they are selling for less than face. I thought the fan base for those schools was decent....

Probably because they know they can go to the game without tickets and get in for cheap.

On the bright side, next year when we are in the NC game, at least I'll know I have tix's....

I drove down for the USC/OU MNC game a few years back without tix and got a pair for below face. S. Florida does not support the OB and tix are easy to come by.

how does that work now that there is a separate game for the NC game?

Since I have been buying tickets for several years now, I will have the option to buy NC tickets....

It may be a "BCS" Bowl, but it's still VT vs. Kansas in Miami.

I thinks it's worth buying the tickets every year even if you lose a few bucks now and then just to have the right to buy them when the big one happens.

Most on this board would say the OU fan base is decent, and most Fiesta Bowl tickets are going for 1/2 of face value.
