I'm a Gibson Les Paul Classic owner myself, but I would love to have a Telecaster. If I ever learn to play the one I have, which I never work at so it probably won't happen, I would get one.

The Les PAul is a thing of beauty. I used to go see LP play his weekly set on the east side back in my yute. Good stuff. I'm really a hollow body man, so this thread should probably be Gibson ES vs. Gretsch Falcon or Country Club. However, I was watching a Sheryl Crow performance and she had a sweet Telly so i went with the Fenders.

No brainer. I have a strat and I would trade it in a second for a Telecaster. ;)

The sweetest guitar I have ever laid hands on is the recently discontinued Gibson Blueshawk. jmho

Tell me that's not the dude from Creed... Either way, PRS = POS. ;)

I've always been a Strat man myself, but I've really wanted a Tele for a while. Still, since I go with what I know, I goes with Strat. I had a Jaguar for a while, and that was pretty nice too. I also have a Mustang, but I still prefer my Strat.

Gibsons are nice and all, but I'm a Fender man (in case you can't tell).

Neither.

I prefer a Baitcaster.

I have a les paul custom now and I really like it, but would love to have a PRS. Of course I would have to play more than 1 hour a month to warrant a new guitar.

there is a thread a while back about me expecting that exact reel in the mail.

I like it so far, but haven't used it much.

The debate here would be round reel VS low profile.

I have a sweet Strat copy that cost $200 including the mini-amp. I pwn you all! So what if it was made in Zaire?

It's perfect in every way except that when you touch the tremolo, the guitar goes out of tune. Otherwise, it's the best guitar I've ever seen.

you need a guitar with the flord rose setup on it. you can divebomb notes all day van halen style and it will still be in tune.

oh, and add 1 vote for the telecaster. i have a sunburst highway 1 tele with the '59 bridge pick-up. it is awesome.

This is what I have...

I guess it's pretty easy to play, I like it and I'm just starting out. I think it's purty, too.

I bought a Strat, mainly because it had a wham bar. Although there is something to be said for the tone a Tele with a Bigsby has.

Yeah, but it's not as cool as my seafoam green model. :D

I vote Stratocaster for rock, Telecaster for country. I like my Strat a lot.

Strat! But if you got the cash a PRS is the way to go... Amazing quality! And of course the LP is great... Once again if you have an extra 2k laying around ;)

Oh, yeah... I forgot... I just wish I had a PRS and not this ole Washburn. :O

It gets the job done, though...

SO poll: What's better, Crimson or Cream?

Typical answers:
Maroon
Khaki
Puce
Garnet
Eggshell (complete with an obscure recipe for creating said color)

Surprisingly, the Iron and Wine dude plays a Gretsch hollow body, like, a lot.

Just bought the Boy a Squier Strat. I figure he can play behind his back as he sings out Louie, Louie.

If y'all haven't played a VG Strat yet, you need to. It's astounding.

Intriguing. I remember when Gibson tried the same thing a quarter century back:

Stratocaster. If it was good enough for Jimi Hendrix, who strung it upside down so he could play it left-handed, it's certainly good enough for me!

That seems way too tricked up for me. Kinda like these digital amps that are supposed to model tubes, but they'll never be able to reproduce the genuine sound, tone, and warmth of a tube amp.

Like I said, you gotta try one. If nothing else, it'll be a good excuse to go hang out at a music store for little bit. :)

I used to have a 78 tele custom.. Great sound, but it didn't fit me well, if ya know what i mean..
I like the more rounded sound of the strat.

If you are thinkin about buyin one, check out the carvin custom shop. I had a guitar built out of there a couple of years ago and it is incredible, of course I picked out every damn thing on and in the guitar.
