Gundy says he isn't leaving for the NFL or other colleges.... :D

Sticking around
Meanwhile, Gundy has maintained he isn’t going anywhere. The man who was a record-setting quarterback at OSU and an assistant in Stillwater from 1990-95 and 2001-04 has called being the Cowboys’ head coach his “New York Yankees job.”
“I’m not interested in other jobs,” Gundy said, noting that included the NFL. “We have a lot going here. I feel lucky that I’m here and fortunate enough to be the head coach. I’m just not interested in anything else.
“I feel very strongly about staying committed to our players. When we recruit, we promise a family and a young man we’ll help them however we can. If we leave in a year or two, we can’t do anything, so where’d that guarantee go?”

Whew...I was worried that we wouldn't have the laughingstock of the college football coaches fraternity around.

Who the hell would hire him other than T. Boner?

“I’m not interested in other jobs,” Gundy said.

"Other jobs aren't interested in me." Fixed that for you, Mike.

I think the has the Flo-Bee franchise for Oklahoma and not anywhere else.

Kinda like Fullmer has the Krispy Kreame franchise for eastern Tenn.

Have you noticed that osu coaches tend to fall into two categories? The first group proclaims undying loyalty to the Orange Rabble, then bolts for the first GOOD job to come along(Jonson,Miles). The second group are coaches who proclaim loyalty to the Orange Rabble andthen get FIRED(Jones,Simmons).I think Mike will fall in the latter category.

Thank God for that. I was afraid Bellicheat and Phillips were going to get axed so NE or Dallas could score the "World's Greatest Offense."

After carefully reviewing the quote --- "I'm not interested in other jobs...", I think Gumby is ruling out the possibility he would leave Stoolwater in order to take the much coveted job of bat-boy for the Yankees. Assuming, of course, Steinbrenner's sons would offer the job.

Seems like that was an easy thing to say considering the fact that absolutely no one was interested in hiring him

He is right about some things. He IS lucky to be a head coach. He should cling to that position for as long as he can.

Actually, Gundy was first in line for the job, but Steinbrenner handed it to his grandson. It just goes to show you that it's who you know, not what you know.

I think you put the wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable

Well, we know for damn sure he couldn't be ball BOY!

*letting out held breath* Whew! That's a load off my mind. I don't know about y'all, but I've been spending many a sleepless night worrying.

Yeah, lame and late, but I felt the need to chime in.

I am SO thankful that we have Gundy on that other sideline come osu game time. What a perfect foil !!!! He adds that dimension of zaniness that we so appreciate about stoolwater. Kinda likeable while pathetic at the same time. Able to inspire a false sense of optimism early on, only to watch it all come crashing down on his spiked hair in the second half of the season. Oh the humanity.......
