Some of his hits back in the '60's and '70's were pretty good.

In that movie Saving Silverman, he was the guy they were dressing up and singing like. ;)

And you can say, "A bunch of no talent, over-synthesized, undereducated, ill-bred, unwashed cretins who achieved much more financial success than that to which they were entitled because of smart agents and marketing companies and the fact that most people have the taste and ability to discern of a corpse."

Ok, you can definitely argue that about NSync, but the other three had a profound impact on their respective genres of music. Lots of talent, and all three are now caput (although I believe SP has reuinited for another album).

You know what's really scary? As people get older they keep listening to the same kind of music they grew up with....

Quiet down kids, Grandpa's trying to listen to his Korn album.

:eek:I think a corollary to that is that young people want to listen to NEW music, from their generation.(even if it is pathetic, in my or anybody's opinion)

And in a corollary to the corollary, any older person is always going to think that the next generation's music is "pathetic".

Um. I go out of my way to listen to new stuff. I don't always like it, but back when I was in HS, I promised myself that I wouldn't be a "you call that music?!" kind of Dad.

Nothing better than hearing "Hungry Like the Wolf" as Elevator Muzak. I've heard Zep as Muzak, too.

I'm weird.

Well I'll you what.............I worked one of his concerts at the Myriad Arena about 10 years ago and WOW. The man can entertain. He played the entire show, no back up band, Him for over THREE HOURS making women in their 80's and 90's dance, sing, faint, cry.....................it was amazing. And he was the most respectful entertainer I have EVER dealt with. He actually had a meeting with us(security, ushers, ticket takers, etc) HIMSELF before the concert to go over his rules on how his fan are to be treated. I was SHOCKED. I had been working as an usher there since I was 16 and NOBODY ever did anything like that. We could take people to their seats after he started his first song to not block the view of the other fans who got their on time, we had to block the stairs during all songs and not allow people back down so they would not interup other fans. He gave us plenty of time between songs to sit people. He actually scnned the audience making sure everything was going right during his show.

It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

He closed to show with "AMERICA" and I thought the 90 year old were gonna rush the stage at me!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was smiling the entire time. It was a HELL of a show!!!!!!!!

There are only two kinds of people in this world: those who like Neil Diamond and those who do not.

I am the former.

All these corollaries are going to give me a coronary.

I realized I was getting old when listening to a "classic" rock station and a song by The Cure came on. 'Twas a sad day indeed.
