For me it is:
Non-Fiction: Barbarians at the Gate (This book really sold me on becoming an investment banker)
Fiction: Breakfast of Champions (This book really sold me on not becoming an insane auto-dealer or a science fiction writer)
Other: I Dare You by William Danforth I won this book as an award and have found it useful quite often.

I read all the Narnia books multiple times...and the A Wrinkle in Time series. I"m also a fan of Gresham books, so I re-read those occasionally. I might re-read the Harry Potter books soon.

Fiction: Harry Potter. I love these books and reread [and listen to them on audiobook] a few times a year.

The Bible.

I don't think I've ever read any other book more than once, but if freakin' George R.R. Martin doesn't hurry up with the next A Song of Fire and Ice book I might have to reread the first 4 books again.

The Hot Zone by Richard Preston and They Cage the Animals at Night by Jennings Michael Burch (both nonfiction).

Hard to figure out what fiction i've read the most. I reread fiction a lot, so I don't know if there's any one that stands out in particular. Maybe the Harry Potter series or one called A Solitary Blue by Cynthia Voigt.

"there was this many"... :D

Fiction, I'd say the Dune series, including the new ones by his son. Also, add "The Diggingest Dog", "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish", and both of the Cat in the Hat books.

Ditto on everything, though I don't think I'm into dozens yet on LOTR. Including the Hobbit and Silmarillion, I'm probably getting close to 10.

Excellent Book....

The Killer Angels by Mike Shaara

Gods and Generals by Jeff Shaara

The Last Full Measure by Jeff Shaara

Jeff writes ALOT like his dad.

Oh and the Holy Bible.....I read that quite a bit within the last year.

The Merriam Webster Dictionary. I need to read this one more often than I really should admit.

The Bible is a close second.

There is a very, very steep fall-off to number 3. Probably, it is Lonely Planet Guide - Thailand.

Besides reference books, I would think that it is "Lord of the Rings" for fiction and "A History of God" by Karen Armstrong.

The Bible, obviously. However, if Queen Hillary gets close to becoming our next president, I may have to re-read "Hell to Pay" by the late Barbara Olson. If she's anything like what's in that book, God help us all!

Jim Bouton's book "Ball Four," the greatest sports book of all time IMHO.

It's a tradition of mine to read "Ball Four" at the start of every baseball season. Even though it's almost 40 years old, the book and the subject matter still hold up well. I still recite most of the lines, and even after multiple readings, I still find new insights that I hadn't come across in prior readings; to me, that also makes it a great book.
Funny thing, though, is that the book isn't quite as good after Bouton was traded from the Seattle Pilots to the Houston Astros, although he was going from the dregs of an expansion team to one in a pennant race. He was more of a rebel and iconoclast with the Pilots and was always clashing with teammates and management, but he was more like "one of the guys" once he went to the Astros, and the book sort of lost its edge once he was traded. But it doesn't take away from what a fantastic book it still is.

Um, Isaac Asimov's entire Robots, Empire, and Foundation arc (9 or 10 books if I recall).

Followed by the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy (ha).

And then Lord of the Rings

And then Harry Potter.

And then Terry Pratchett. He's only so far down the list because he has 20+ books out and they're all outstanding.

Although if you go by word count I've probably read more Dostoyevsky than any other author. ;)

I have read Battlefield Earth 5 times. Last time was just after I saw the so called movie to wash that piece of crap thing out of my brain.

BTW I stood up and threw my popcorn at the screen with a boo and this is total BS speech and walk out of that so called movie after 10 minutes and took half the audience with me. The Non-Sci Fi er's in the audience were freaked out wondering what the hell our problem was.

Damn Scientology Church of L. Ron freaks ruined one the best Sci Fi books ever written. Then a few years later they convince Chef to quit South Park.

They should all be killed.
