is to take teams ranked 1-4 and let them play. Half the teams in a 8 man playoff have already played. Forget conference champions, the 4 best teams play. Team 1 plays 4, Team 2 plays 3. The championship game is not predetermined so no team will play in their backyard.

The more I read this plan, the more I like it. I take back what I said about JK's. This is my new favorite.
