My kid brother-in-law (age 44) had a heart attack last night. He checked himself into the hospital and more tests are being run today. He has 2 young sons. Prayers and good thoughts for him and the family are most welcome!
THANKS

The first 24 hours are the most important (higher chances of an arrhythmia). I'm sure he'll be okay. My best to you all, TU.

That is an extremely scary age for a male to have a heart attack. Thank God he made it to the ER.

Update:
He had an angiogram and a couple of stents were placed in blocked areas. They say he's all fixed up, but they want to keep him in hospital for another day or 3.
Thanks to all of you for your support!

It seems like only last year that he was a teenager getting away from the Iranian revolution to come live with his sister and me.
You young critters who don't know time flies ought to slow down and take a little look around. Just sayin. ;)

Hopefully the damage was minimal. If they haven't already done bypass or put in a stent I suspect that is the case. He will be frightened for a while but he can recover completely.

I've had some recent experience and learned a few things I will be glad to share if you so desire. He will likely experience depression in the near term, it's normal and will subside over time. Meanwhile he will need lot's of emotional support and probably medication as well. Feel free to peem any questions you might have.

Thanks for the update.

There will be some life style changes ahead for your brother-inlaw. Your bro-inlaw may be interested in a book by Dr. Arthur Agatston (wrote South Beach Diet) titled "South Beach Heart Program."

Here is a links to an article about the book:
