Surprised this has not made the boards yet....however we have lost another assistant to the head coaching ranks....good thing I suppose.

So, do you think Wilson will become the full-time offensive coordinator or will Bob bring in another co-OC? Hmmm, someone who is currently employed as a coordinator in the state of Oklahoma and whose first name rhymes with "bus" perhaps?

Ah, I just had to throw that up there to see if it sticks.

Personally, I think Josh is in line for a promotion.

Mr. Malzahn? That would be suweet.
Any rumor that Petrino at Arkie might pick him up instead?
Would be awesome to have a creative high powered O exclusive to OU.

I think Petrino's brother, Paul, is going to be the Razorback OC. The only way Gus would return to Fayetteville is if he becomes the head coach.

That's kinda what I'm thinking. I'm sure he was *****d after the way they handled his situation at U of A last year

Oklahoma receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator Kevin Sumlin (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Kevin+Sumlin&CATEGORY=PERSON) has been eliminated as a finalist from the Houston (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Houston+Cougars&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) head-coaching job, the Houston Chronicle (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Houston+Chronicle+Publishing+Company&CATEGORY=COMPANY) has reported.

Sumlin, 43, had been one of five finalists for the position to replace Art Briles (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Art+Briles&CATEGORY=PERSON), who left for Baylor. But the Chronicle reported on Tuesday night that Houston (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Houston+Cougars&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) athletic director Dave Maggard (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Dave+Maggard&CATEGORY=PERSON) had pared his selection down to two candidates — former NFL (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=National+Football+League&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) and Cougars coach Jack Pardee (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Jack+Pardee&CATEGORY=PERSON) and Notre Dame offensive coordinator Michael Haywood (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Michael+Haywood&CATEGORY=PERSON).
Tulsa (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Tulsa+Golden+Hurricane&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) assistant head coach and co-offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Gus+Malzahn&CATEGORY=PERSON) had also been interviewed for the job. Sumlin was also one of three finalists to fill the Washington State head-coaching vacancy.
But Tuesday, WSU announced the hiring of Eastern Washington coach Paul Wulff (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Paul+Wulff&CATEGORY=PERSON). Sumlin had met with WSU officials in Salt Lake City late last week.

That's just the Daily Oklahoman doing what it does best.

Sumlin was interviewed then removed from the list of candidates, then later became a candidate again. Then hired. The Daily Oklahoman is a little behind the times.

From the same source the Daily Oklahoman used but not a week old story:

University of Houston athletic director Dave Maggard will introduce Kevin Sumlin as the Cougars' new head football coach today.
