Who are you hearing will fill our 1 remaining spot on the schedule next year? With Washington, Cinc. and TCU already on the schedule I'd like to see a better team than a Utah St. come into Norman but it's getting late and not sure who would want to come play us at home next year....

I vote for FL Atlantic. That would make the game week interesting.

But unlike uso, they really are on the rise.

They'll probably be playing their intersectional rival Oklahoma State that weekend.

I would love to see the homa and home with FAMU reinstated. I would love a trip to FL to see the Rattler's Band, to hell with the game. ;)

But, B. Britt would probably nix the game because the pride would get their hat handed to them the way they look now-a-days... (I'm former Pride so I can say that).

Miami Dolphins...think of the street cred we'd get for beating an NFL team...

...course it is the Dolphins

I used to teach at FAMU. It was great fun to go to a game on Saturday afternoon to watch the band and see the men, Steppin Out...not much attention was paid to the game.

The football team has enough problems right now that to have to play OU...

Perhaps a 'guest appearance' by the Marching 100?
The Pride would not lose much face to the M100, as there are few bands in the country that are more entertaining and have such a great reputation.

Right before conference play? Are you out of your f***ing mind? We cant risk that kind of injury!

Accoring to the Oklahoma Media guide for the 1931 season we lost @Honolulu 39-20. I think that was a Hawaiian All-Star team because we beat Hawaii 7-0 the following week.

I say we play the 1931 Hawaii All-Stars again and bring the record to 1-1.
For one thing any of those guys still around would be in their 90's and I think we might be able to get our back-up QB a few snaps. :D

If not we have a 11-6 loss in 1902 to avenge against the Dallas Athletic Club.

Short list of fun teams to take on:

1- FAU
Why: Former coach should be given another reason to vote OU low in the Coaches Poll.

2- Rice
Why: Because of their band, no other real reason. If they can trash Tulsa, why not see the jabs they take at the entire state?

3- Minnesota
Why: If you thought Arkansas had impossible and unreal inflated opinions and expectations of their football team...

4- Indiana
Why: Because they stole our uniforms. Oh, and they took Calvin Simpson, too. THANK YOU, btw!

5- Troy
Why: To show Okie St. how it's done.

6- Houston, Arizona or SDSU
Why: You figure it out.

7- Stanford
Why: For the same reason as Rice, but also with the added "They beat USC" twist.

8- Iowa
Why: Heart and corn fill the fanbase. They would be a fun one to play here, kind of like Warshington. No chance of winning, but a good football road trip for them.

9- UTEP
Why: We beat Mike Price in Wazzu's last good year. He'd be fun to matchup with again.

10- Wherever Dennis Franchione goes.
Why: D****bag! A**hole! Beyonce! Grrrrrr...

11- Mississippi or Miss. State
Why: So we can see what Oklahoma's state of football would have been like if they never had championship roots with Bud and Barry.

12- Connecticut
Why: A fairly new program with a lot of potential. However, they are highly overrated and need their ego squeezed.

13- Virginia
Why: See U Conn.

14- R-Kansas
Why: Seriously, doesn't everyone in the country want to bring that "coach" down now?

Ok, there's my short list. Honestly, I'd like to play everyone :D

lsu - we owe them and lester

Whoever it is, I want them to be from a BCS conference. To hell with this BS scheduling. We need a marquee matchup in 2008. Sorry, U-dub doesn't count.

If we can adjust, maybe we can play LSU on their open date of 13 September. That would give both of us a marquee matchup in 2008 (right now they have Troy, Tulane, and North Texas).

ADR, U-dub away, Cincinnati, RRS, Kansas, K-State

There is enough meat there to not have to worry about SOS.

I like Badger's #6: KU, Houston, Arizona, TT, SDSU, Nebbish...that would be a  year.

Michigan has a TBA on 20 September right now.

edit: Nevermind: They added Utah to August 30, instead.

I'm not worried about SOS. I just want to see us play somebody real in our OOC. We are *****footing too much.

This was the first year since 2000 that our OOC schedule was on the "very" side of pathetic. Most years it's at least decent.

I agree, but looking at the '08 schedule makes me think it's the new trend. We need to counter that **** now.

boise state. Joe C, go get this game!

The team with a blue field.

we lost to the team with a blue field.

boise state. One more time, Joe, go get that game!

I was begging for that game last year. Buy north texas and whoever boise state played and get them here for the opener. Beat them then miami, what a way to pay some people back and jump start the season.
It turned out ok but that would have gotten this boise state thing out of our hair. Well...we've got an open date in 2008 so...go get that game!
We're OU, make it happen.

Joe already tried to line up Boise and they said "no thanks"

My vote is for someone OU can hang a half-hundred on, get the backups a few snaps, and notch an easy victory.

NP's daddy told me about that one (his family, unlike mine, is nothing but Sooners for about 20 generations, hehe).

If I remember right, he said it was raunchy Oklahoma, where the girls sing "I caint say no!" and such.
