View Full Version : Prayer Request for My Family

I just found out my dad, who lives in Fort Gibson, is going to be admitted to the hospital.

The docs confirmed he had a stroke, but as of right now it's on the lower end of the severity scale. No paralysis, but he is having some short term memory issues.

I'm awaiting word from his wife on any new developments, but as always, any good thoughts you can send our way would be much appreciated.

Here's the latest:

Still having issues with short term memory and his balance, but it could have been a lot worse. Of course, he's going to be admitted for observation and more testing.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers and I'll keep you all posted.

Talked to his wife this morning and she said he's doing much, much better this morning with his memory and certainly a lot better than when they arrived at the ER yesterday. He should be seeing a neurologist later today.

I know anytime any of us is in need, we can count on each other on this board to pull together and think of one another. Still, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank each and every one of you, once again, for all your thoughts and prayers.

And to answer Hamhock's post, yes, they admitted him to MRMC. He was in the ICU last night.

That's great to hear and thank you for being apart of our SO family and the support you've given me in the past.

He's seen a Neurologist now. They actually think it wasn't a stroke, but rather a Transient Ischemic Attack which is similar to stroke. Depending on further tests, there's a chance he could go home tonight.

He'll still need to have an MRI done on his head so they can decide on a course of action.

And to ensure there's not any hot air up there. ;)

That is great news! And yes I agree, we all tend to pull together for each other here when needed. We're kind of like some big-extended-somewhat- dysfunctional family, and I say that with a great amount of love to you all.

Back on topic, that is really good news Grapevine. Hopefully he is home and well and all will be good for Christmas :)

He's home now. Has a bad headache though, but memory continues to improve. He goes back to the doc on Friday for an MRI.
