I just ended up with OU and Missouri in the title game. So Boogers McGee could go 1-2 against us and win a championship. Yeah, that's fair.

Playoffs are not a panacea. The BCS is not inferior to a playoff, it's just different. And vice versa.

Hey, this is pretty cool.

It seems to love Georgia though. First 2 times I did it Georgia won, and then third times the charm! We won against Kansas!

OU won it all the first time I tried it. Percentage favorite in every game too. We beat Va Tech in mine.

61% vs Ohio State is pretty amazing.

Florida 3x's in a row for the NC and I even seeded them 15 and 16. Re-Tard-Ed.

Where were you when I was arguing this point against the hordes of playoff believer-inners a few weeks ago? :D

...and you know those playoff believer-inners can't believe how blind we are to the truth. ;)

I don't think the seeding changes a team's "power ranking", just it's schedule.

Man, I tried that earlier today and OU was out in the first game, made me so mad I loudly proclaimed the ever popular "screw you ESPN bastages!" and left.

Remembering why I gave up that fight last year. :D

I wouldn't fight against a playoff, but I don't mind what we have now either. However, I would at least like to see margin of victory added back in to the computer rankings. Everybody seems to forget how much worse it was before the BCS. The BCS is not supposed to be a playoff system, it's supposed to be better than the pre-BCS days. Which it is.

For everybody who thinks a playoff is the only way to go, all I have to say is "2006 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals".

OU lost in the first round to #15 clemson, who went on to play #16 Tennesee for the title.

Yeah I hear ya on giving up. I finally just said my goodbyes on a few of those threads and walked away. I too would not mind a playoff. Like you though, I don't think it's gonna be the magic cure-all that a lot of peeps on here believe.

I did it the other day. It didn't like my inputs. I put 1vs2, 3vs4, etc. none of the wimpy 1vs16, 2vs15, etc stuff. I put all the close rankings together to get the better games. Suffice to say, texas wasn't in it being ranked higher than 16.

LOL at the bowl lovers, like some cheezy computer game trumps real games being played on the field.

Look at this one. How in the hell does Hawaii win those games?? No way that happens. Maybe they pull off one upset, but not both of them. I like the final result though even though the first time I did it, it had us losing to BC.

Man if it were legit, OU would have had a hell of a road!
Beat Boston College, usc, texas, and VaTech for the title.

Woot!

If OU doesnt win it every time its stupid, right guys?

Have you all not witnessed this college football season? Upsets have happened every week. Why is it so out of a realm that a upset could happen in a playoff?

Everytime I do it, even when OU loses, I check the stats and Bradford has the top yardage and touchdowns - against everybody!

No its just stupid to think a 3-loss Florida team that won neither their division nor conference could (and did) win the NC under this model.

What I find interesting is that the team with higher percentage doesn't always advance.

Am I reading this thing wrong?

Are those the percentage of time one team would win over another and not a "winner" of that game?

*EDIT - Yes, it is a base percentage that is always the same when the same two teams meet.

I'm just a bit tardy.

Like that doesn't happen in the NFL, NBA, MLB, college basketball, div 1AA, 2, 3.....

Sure we were 2-0 against Kansas in '86/'87 but they won the one that counted. Power to them. Same 'Nova over G'town.
