So we are here in Scottsdale for meetings and came out here a few days early. We went to Sedona yesterday and it was gorgeous but my mom and grandma kept seeing these purple prickly pears and just fell in love with them. So today we went around to various nurseries looking for these damn purple cacti. Either they didn't have them or they wouldn't ship them to us because "it's not worth the hassle".
So...this afternoon when I had to come back to the room to take care of my customers my mom and grandma started casing the joint. They went up and down the streets around our hotel and went all over the 40 acres of the hotel we are staying at trying to find the best ones of these purple prickly pear.
Well after dinner tonight at Roy's (which was just phenomenal btw) I got to be my mother's wingman on this precarious caper. We came back and my mom dressed all in black and we went out in our rented SUV and cased the streets one more time. We switch positions so I could drive and I let her out. I made a couple of drags down the street while she was hauling in her loot with a stolen hotel towel and some baggies.
I swung by picked her up and we are now safely back in the hotel. My stepdad is going to complete this little caper tomorrow by being the mule that brings the cacti across the state line.
So now we my parents are going to have a fence line of purple cacti.
