I was having a few beers with some friends tonight and the table next to us was a bunch of completion folks. One had on coveralls from a company that a friend of mine worked for for a month before getting fired. My buddy is another story alltogether.

I walked over and started talking to this guy and asked him about my buddy. He was the guy that ran my buddy off! We shot the **** and had a few more beers. He gave me his card and said that if I ever eanted to get out of drilling and get into completion to give him a call that he'd love to hire me.

the money would be unbelieveable. Company truck, gas card, 750/day, 45/day per diem, 5,000/month salary but I don't know crap about setting plugs and fishing. I'd have to sleep in my truck when at the well site but most nights I would get to sleep in my own bed at home.

She could ride in the truck with me. With this job I won't be on the same location for weeks on end like I am now. Usually a new location every day or two. Most nights I would be at my house. I think it would be about the same number of days at work each month, 20-28.

YES!!!!

I really like my job and the folks that I work with and for. My manager might be cheap but he'll only be my manager for another 3-6 months. I'll never make 750/day where I'm at but I think I'll stay put unless thay anger me again!

$5000/month salary plus $750 a day? How many days a month would you be on site? What's the difference between the $750 and the $45 per diem?

While some on here might disagree, I'm not a doosh like my buddy is. I've also never shot a guy over the town whore like he did.

He doesn't quite understand how the world works and has always been a hot head.

so, they're offering a completely inexperienced person a job in the industry where you'll basically be making $288,000 plus a company truck?

What's the catch?

~ahem~[gathering composure]...Well, in that case I will advise you to do what your heart contends, but use your head as well. :)

If I had a dollar for every time I was offered a job in a bar I'd look like a really good stripper with dollars sticking out of everywhere.

Keep your current gig punkin. And stay out of the damn bars.

take the money you idiot.

you and Dave Ramsey can do some serious saving for a while. if you don't like the job, you can always go back to your current gig, hat in hand, and tell them you chased money, learned your lesson and you're theirs forever.
