Clearly, this country's gun laws need to be overhauled.

when they told me that there was a delay and they would have to call me back when the approval came through I wanted to say, 'That's OK, she'll be home for a few days, I'm not in that big of a hurry.'

I've been thinking of buying a couple of Ruger Vaqueros and getting into the single action shooting game. Can't decide if I want to make that investment, and if I'd get my money out of it. Prolly not, but it would be some nice toys.

Well...I'll just say this: I don't want to ever have to pay 40 bucks for a used USGI 30 round AR mag like back in the 1990's.

They are $11 now, so might as well hoard a little.

I used to have a Glock 22 in .40 S&W and just about bought another one today but I decided on the .45 instead. I can't wait to pull it on a derrick hand.

I'm with Jerk on stocking up on hi-cap magazines.
I don't even kid myself that it's an investment, but the price IS right these days.

Jerk

They usually discount the price when you buy in bulk

I used to live in SE Oklahoma, went to SOSU in Durant, and what do you know I turned into a bit of a gun dude myself.

Trust me, Olevet could quite likely have an arsenal larger than what some of those faggy European countries possess.

Course, I'm nothing compared to the kind of people that have stockpiles of grenades buried in the crawl spaces of their houses down around Hugo. I just hope they think I'm on their side when the S hits the fan.

I'm on your side, man, don't shoot.

I've always wanted to learn to shoot a gun. But never have had the opportunity really.

I went shooting a couple of times with a guy I dated when I was in college, but I think his shotgun was a bit too much for me cuz it knocked me on my butt when I shot it.

And don't ya'll go twisting my words and gettin' all pervy on me.

I ordered from these people a LONG time ago and they were good to deal with:

Pistol?

I'd get something in 9mm. Ammo for it is still relatively cheap and there is very little recoil. It certainly won't 'knock you on your butt.' You'll have fun shooting it and you can use it for self-defense. If you have kids in the house, don't let some gun counter salesman talk you into a revolver. Best thing in that case (besides putting the gun up where the kids can't get to it) is to have a semi-auto, loaded magazine, but not 'chambered.' That way, if the worst happens, and the little tike gets his paws on it, he'll have to manipulate the slide to c0ck the gun. With a revolver there are no safeties. Also, take a class. That's what SAS did. He's a newbie so you might pm him. I've been around guns all my life so it's hard for me to imagine where you'd start.

This is where Jerk an I separate . A revolver is the Best home defense weapon for an inexperienced woman (or man ) to have , Its Point and clik .

Ps
I have taught gun safty classes ;)
Theres a reason that in the Oklahoma CCP class that If you Qualify with a Revover thats what you can carry
With an Auto you can do either , Reason being the auto is More complicated fer a nOOb
just sayin

Yep, I'm with Olevet on this one. For someone inexperienced a revolver is the way to go. Either .38 Special, or probably better yet a .357 that can be downloaded with .38 for practice and then loaded with .357 for self-defense purposes.

I know what jerk is saying about a semi-auto being more difficult for a child to operate, but a gun should not be left where a child can get to it anyway...that's just bad news waiting to happen.
