Nothing too exciting but I took this when we took a walk down the street earlier to check out all the damage. It is a twig of a tree all frozen inside ice. Kind of pretty. You can see on of the branches down across the street too.

That right there is the Devil's work & worse - jeebeezus...ya'll take care & get over this shat as soon as you can... damm stuff is the worst kind of weather-stuff-that-you-don't-wish-on-anyone-type-of-thing..

I know we'll get ours sometime, but I feel for ya'll....plenty of vodka / brown liquor & whatever....the work comes later - keep everyone safe....

Several neighborhoods in Edmond had trees down all over . . . we were without power most of today. Luckily it's back on. I hope for good.

I was actually in Wal-Mart (Danforth and Santa Fe) today looking for a replacement digital camera, but that place was such a zoo I just left.

pussies , In 2000 I cut 32 trees outta my drive just so i could go get beer . then had to clear the roads going and By the time I was heading home Mo trees had fallen , had to cut a path thru them also;)

once again, that was THE WORST I have ever been thru. I hated that storm. My parent's trees are just now looking like trees again instead of coat racks.

phuck, man. My 10 dollar tree I bought from China-Mart in 2005 was my pride and joy. It was probably 12 feet high with a trunk about 4-5 inches in diameter. Anyway, the ice was so heavy on it that it was cracking one of the main branches and putting a massive strain on the whole thing. So I pruned the hell out of it. I hope it comes back this spring :sad: I might have destroyed it while trying to save it :mad: It's a 'Wateroak' and it grows like a weed. Damn. I feel like it's one of my chilren'

HEH , My son lived in Poteau, I told him Come get your Granma , He did . Next thing I know Him ,my DIL and all 3 kids ,Plus Granma were tryin to get to My shack , See I had a Gen . , Poteau was No Power , and Then No water ,
I also Gots a well ;) an Propane heat :cool:

we did w/o power for 4 days, and had no water for the last 2. we got fixed up first, cause we are on the same line as the nursing home and that is priority in Spiro. All those rich SOB's on 'snob hill' were out for about 7 or so.

Something like that. It sounded much worse when it fell than it looked when I got out there.

That tree survived May 3's F5 tornadoes. I hope it survives this too.

Oh I was lucky - no broken windows or body damage.

I had been out there about 20 minutes earlier to move it, but the locks were frozen. The tree shattered a bunch of the ice so I was able to get in and move it.

It's thundering in Nichols Hills now, BTW.

You WERE lucky. After Hurricane Hugo in Chuckville, SC, I had the same kind of experience with a 100ft loblolly pine. Except the tree ended up lying on the ground with equal parts of pickup truck on either side.

Pickups were in such demand after the hurricane that some Bubba came and offered to haul it all off so he could make a trailer out of the remaining truck bed...

Man, that sucks. Prayers for all of you having to put up with this.

It's hard to imagine what the campus and all the beautiful neighborhoods in the area are going to look like with the mature tree loss.
